What are the absolute must-have accessories for the S25 Ultra? Im getting my preorder delivered in like three days and I havent even bought a case yet so Im kinda panicking lol. I looked at the Spigen ones but then saw some people on Reddit saying their screen protectors totally ruin the fingerprint scanner and others say to only buy the official Samsung ones but they are so pricey. I work in landscaping so I need something super tough but not too bulky and I only got about 80 or 90 bucks left to spend on everything. Should I prioritize a screen protector or just a really good rugged case... any ideas??

Im pretty satisfied with how my gear holds up. For your $90 budget, these two options provide a solid balance:

Regarding what #2 said about "Im pretty satisfied with how my gear holds..."

  • I totally agree that Ringke makes fantastic stuff, but since you are working in landscaping, you definitely need to prioritize dust seals and impact ratings! I am absolutely obsessed with the engineering behind the Spigen Tough Armor Designed for Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It uses this specific XRD impact foam that is usually found in high-end protective gear, which is amazing for those accidental drops on gravel or stone.
  • First, the Spigen case is about 25 or 30 dollars. It is super tough but thin enough that it wont feel like a brick in your work pants.
  • Second, for the screen, that fingerprint sensor issue usually happens with thick, cheap tempered glass. Since you work outside, check out the Samsung Official Anti-Reflecting Screen Protector. It is a high-tech film rather than glass, so it doesn't mess with the ultrasonic sensor at all! Plus, the anti-reflective coating is a massive life-saver when you are trying to check your screen in direct sunlight while on a job site.
  • Lastly, dont forget your charging port! If you are around dirt and mulch all day, grab a pack of Port Plugs Silicone USB-C Dust Covers. They are like 10 bucks and will save your charging port from getting jammed with silt or debris over time. Total cost for those is around 55 or 60 bucks, so you stay way under budget. Love the S25 Ultra choice btw, it is a total beast!

Man, landscaping is basically the ultimate test for any phone. Ive spent years working outdoors and i can tell you right now that dust and fine sand are gonna be your biggest enemies, even more than just dropping it on concrete. Over the years, Ive tried many different setups for my Ultras and honestly, balancing the tough vs bulky thing is the hardest part. Usually, if you go too thin to save space, the screen ends up getting micro-scratches from the grit in your pockets or the moisture from sweating through your clothes. Ive got a few thoughts on how you should approach this based on my experience with the older models:

  • Screen protectors and ultrasonic scanners are always a headache. In my experience, if you get a cheap film one, it works okay but peels at the edges when it gets hot outside. Tempered glass is way better for actual impact protection but it definitely messes with the sensor if you dont install it perfectly.
  • Rugged cases usually have high lips to protect the screen, but they can catch on your work gear if the material is too grippy. Before you spend that 90 bucks tho, I need to know a couple of things: 1. Are you more worried about the phone falling out of your pocket onto gravel, or is it more about the screen getting scratched up by fine dust and tools while youre moving around?
  • Would you rather spend most of your budget on one tank-like case that lasts forever, or are you looking to split it so you have spare screen protectors for when the first one inevitably gets cracked at work?

saw this earlier but just now responding. you should prioritize both, but be careful with super thick glass protectors. they can mess with the fingerprint scanner and you dont want to be fighting your phone while working. i would suggest making sure whatever case you pick has really high raised lips. landscaping grit is no joke and will scratch your display if you arent super cautious. good luck with the new phone!
