Finally pulled the trigger on the S26 Plus for my desk at work. I saw the 15W official pad online but then saw a rumor that 25W wireless is finally happening for the Plus models. Im totally lost because some sites say it's still capped. Whats actually the fastest one I can get by next week?

Honestly, I'm happy sticking with the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand EP-N5200. That cooling fan is a lifesaver for battery health.

  • Super reliable
  • Way cheaper now

Unfortunately, Samsung still uses a proprietary handshake for anything above standard Qi, so those 25W rumors are mostly a letdown in actual testing. Generic pads just wont trigger the higher voltage. You really need the Samsung 15W Super Fast Wireless Charger Duo EP-P5400 or the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Single EP-P2400. These are the only ones with integrated fans to manage the thermals effectively.

The 25W wireless rumors for the S26 Plus have been floating around, but technically, Samsung is still very conservative with thermals. Even if the phone can theoretically handle higher peaks, it requires a very specific handshake that most generic pads dont have. If you use a standard Qi charger, you are gonna be stuck at basic speeds regardless of what the box says. I have spent a lot of time measuring draw on these, and for the S26 Plus, you basically need the Samsung 15W Fast Wireless Charger Pad EP-P2400 to get the most consistent results. Heres the technical reality:

  • Heat management is the biggest bottleneck. The official pads have an integrated fan that kicks in to keep the induction coils cool.
  • You must use a high-wattage brick. If you dont pair the pad with something like the Samsung 25W PD Power Adapter EP-TA800, the pad wont have enough overhead to push the 15W wireless limit.
  • Protocol matching. Samsung uses a proprietary version of Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 which is separate from the standard Qi Extended Power Profile. Third-party options like the Anker 315 Wireless Charger 10W Pad are decent for overnight, but they wont hit the max speeds for a quick desk top-off. Stick with the official 15W hardware if you need it by next week. The 25W stuff is mostly marketing fluff that throttles down after five minutes anyway. Efficiency loss on wireless is usually around 30% anyway, so heat is always the enemy here.
