What fast charger should I actually buy for my Galaxy S26 Plus because the market is a total mess right now? I just pulled the trigger on the pre-order and I am super excited since I have been rocking an S21 for years now but I just realized I dont have a brick that can actually handle the speeds this thing is supposed to get. I am heading to Japan for a two-week vacation in about a month and I really need a charger that can juice me up fast while I am grabbing a quick lunch or something because I know I am gonna be draining the battery using Google Maps and taking a million photos of the shrines.

Ive done some digging and I am kinda stuck between a few options. I saw the official Samsung 45W wall charger which seems like the safe bet but then I read a thread where people were saying it doesnt stay at 45W for very long and it might be a waste of money compared to the 25W one. Then I looked at the Anker 715 (Nano II) which is 65W and looks way smaller which would be great for my travel bag but some people on Reddit said that if it doesnt have the specific PPS (Programmable Power Supply) rating it wont actually trigger the Super Fast Charging 2.0 on Samsung phones and it will just charge at a normal slow speed. Is that still true for the S26 series or did they finally make it more universal?

I have about 40 or 50 dollars to spend so I dont want to buy something cheap that breaks or worse ruins my new phone but I also dont want to overpay for a name brand if the tech inside is the same. Does the S26 Plus even take advantage of 65W or is it capped at 45W anyway? Some of these tech blogs are saying the charging curve is different this year but I cant find a straight answer. Also do I need a special cable for this? I saw something about 5A cables vs 3A cables and my head is honestly spinning. If anyone has been testing chargers on the S26 series yet please let me know what actually works...

Look, honestly, dont get sucked into the 65W marketing since the S26 Plus is still capped at 45W anyway. You need to be really careful about the PPS spec though... if the charger doesnt support the specific voltage ranges Samsung uses, it defaults to slow charging. I would suggest sticking with the Samsung 45W USB-C Power Adapter with 5A Cable because it comes with the right cord. Most people fail to realize that a standard cable wont cut it. You absolutely need a 5A rated cable with an e-marker chip to hit those top speeds. If you really want a compact travel option, the Anker 313 Charger Ace 45W is solid but you must buy a separate Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable 140W 5A or it wont work right. Seriously, dont skip the cable or youll be stuck charging at 25W the whole trip.

I went through a similar headache trying to find a reliable travel setup recently. Like someone mentioned, PPS is the non-negotiable part here. I found that the Ugreen Nexode 45W Dual USB C GaN Charger supports the necessary profiles for SFC 2.0 and is very compact. You definitely need a 5A rated cable like the Anker 333 USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W 5A or the hardware wont ever push past 25W.

> Does the S26 Plus even take advantage of 65W or is it capped at 45W anyway? Its unfortunately still capped at 45W. Honestly its a bit of a letdown given how long we have been waiting for real upgrades, but thats just how it is. I get being worried about the tech too... I have had issues with random bricks not triggering the fast charging even when the box says they will. For safety and that PPS requirement, I mostly trust the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W Wall Charger. Its super reliable and doesnt get scary hot like some of those ultra-cheap ones. Just remember you 100% need a 5A cable or the phone wont pull the full power. I grabbed the Spigen DuraSync USB C to USB C Cable 100W 5A and it works every time without drama. If you want something for your Japan trip that feels a bit more robust, maybe check out the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 65W Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger. Tbh its not as good as I expected for the price but it is very safe and Belkin has a good warranty for peace of mind. Just dont expect it to charge at 65W on the Samsung... itll just do the 45W max anyway.
