So I finally upgraded to the Fold 7 and Im honestly lost with the charging situation right now. Ive been using my old 45W brick from my Note days but the phone is barely pulling any power and its taking forever to top off. I know all about PPS and Power Delivery 3.0 requirements but my usual Anker setup just isnt cutting it for some reason? My logic was that any 45W PPS brick should trigger Super Fast Charging 2.0 but its just stuck on the regular fast charging animation. Im leaving for a conference in Chicago on Friday so I need to grab something from Amazon Prime like tonight. Budget is around 50 bucks and I really need that speed... is there a specific brick that actually works with the new Fold architecture without overheating?

I've seen so many people buy a generic 65W brick thinking it'll be faster, only to find out it doesn't support the specific 11V/4.05A or 9V/5A range Samsung needs. If you're heading to Chicago, you definitely dont want to be tethered to a wall for two hours. I would suggest you be really careful about the cable you're using. If it's the one that came in the box or an old one from your Note, it might not be a 5A cable. Without an E-marker chip, the Fold 7 won't even attempt Super Fast Charging 2.0 for safety reasons. I'd grab the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W GaN Wall Charger because it's built specifically with Samsung's PPS protocol in mind and it's super portable. Another practical option if you need to charge a tablet or buds at the same time is the Ugreen Nexode 65W GaN Charger. It's reliable, but just remember that the wattage splits when you plug in a second device, which might drop you back to standard charging speeds. Make sure to pair it with a high-quality cable like the Ugreen 100W USB-C to USB-C Cable 5A. Honestly, the cable is usually where the handshake fails, so dont skip that part of the equation if you want those max speeds before your flight.

Saw this while eating lunch earlier. Honestly, I went through this exact headache with my last Fold. Samsung is weirdly specific about the PPS profile. If the brick doesnt hit the exact voltage and amperage combo, usually 4.05A or 5A for SFC 2.0, the phone just drops back to standard fast charging. I once bought a fancy 65W brick that was basically useless for my Samsung because it lacked the right PPS steps... kinda frustrating. In my experience, you really need a 5A rated cable too. Standard cables top out at 3A and will throttle your speed no matter what. The Samsung 45W USB-C Fast Charging Wall Charger is the safest bet since it includes the right wire. If you prefer Anker, the Anker 313 Charger 45W Ace works great too, just dont forget that 5A cable. Hit me up if you need help picking out a specific cable tho.
