Just pre-ordered the S26 Ultra and my old 25W brick wont cut it. I saw some folks online suggesting the Anker Nano but others say you need a specific 5A cable for the PPS 45W speeds to even kick in. Im trying to stay under $40 before my flight next week... what chargers actually work for this?

In my experience, I've tried many and the Samsung 45W Power Adapter with 5A Cable is the most reliable option under $40 to ensure those full charging speeds actually function.

I was digging into these PPS specs for a while and learned the hard way that total wattage is basically a marketing trap. A few years back, I grabbed a beefy laptop charger thinking it would fly, but my phone just sat there at basic speeds because the brick lacked the right Programmable Power Supply steps. You really need to be careful with the voltage ranges on the label. If it doesnt specifically list a PPS range that hits 5A at around 11V, youre not getting 45W. A few things I learned to watch for:

  • Chargers that hit 45W via 15V or 20V usually wont trigger the 2.0 speeds.
  • Standard 3A cables literally cannot handle the current needed, even if the brick is a beast.
  • Some cables without e-marker chips can actually overheat if they are pushed too hard. Honestly, I would suggest looking at the fine print on the spec sheet before buying anything. I have seen so many people buy chargers that technically have the power but lack the specific PDO profile for the latest fast charging 2.0 standards. Just make sure the cable matches the brick.
