Im so pumped because I finally saved up enough to build a custom rig for my freelance video work. I’m looking at like a $2500 budget and honestly prices for GPUs and monitors are jumping all over the place lately. I need to buy everything by next month but I dont want to get ripped off by buying right before a sale hits. I tried looking into CamelCamelCamel but that seems totally limited to just Amazon and I really want to compare stuff on Newegg, B&H, and maybe even Best Buy since I live like five minutes away from one here in Seattle. Then I saw people talking about Honey but it feels more like a coupon thing than a proper price tracker that shows me the whole history? Like I want to see if a price is actually a deal or just the normal price disguised as a sale. Is there something that aggregates all of them in one place so I dont have to keep fifty tabs open and refresh them every morning like a crazy person? What is the best tool for tracking prices across multiple online retailers at the same time?

honestly, camelcamelcamel is way too limited for a full build. ive been using Price Drop Catch for my own rigs lately and im really satisfied with how it aggregates data across different stores. it tracks price history for newegg and best buy so you can verify the raw price trends. it works well and keeps your data local, which is a big win for me.

OMG building a new rig is the best feeling ever! You are gonna love it!! Since you are spending $2500, you definitely want to be careful about where your money goes. If you want to stay safe and not get burned by fake sales, you seriously have to use PCPartPicker. Its basically the holy grail for exactly what you need. Heres why its so amazing for tracking everything:

  • It pulls prices from Newegg, B&H, Best Buy, and Amazon all in one spot.
  • The price history charts are super reliable so you can see if that discount is actually real or just marketing fluff.
  • You can set up email alerts for specific parts so you dont have to refresh tabs like a maniac lol.
  • It even checks for compatibility issues so you dont accidentally buy parts that wont fit together. Seriously, its the safest way to spend that cash without stressing. Good luck with the build!!
