Ive been using CamelCamelCamel for like ten years now and it has always been my go-to but lately its just totally letting me down. I am trying to finish this PC build for my brothers birthday in three weeks and I need an RTX 4080 Super but the prices are bouncing all over the place like crazy. I swear I get the email notification from Camel like three hours after the price already went back up and it is making me lose my mind because I keep missing the window by minutes. I even tried Keepa but the UI is honestly such a mess and half the time the browser extension just crashes my Chrome tabs when I have too many listings open at once.

Is there something better out there that actually works in real-time? I need something that isnt gonna flag me as a bot or whatever because I think Amazon is catching on to my current setup. I am looking for something that hits these specific points:

  • Must have instant mobile push notifications because emails are too slow for these flash drops
  • Needs to handle used or warehouse deals too because sometimes those are better value
  • Budget is pretty much zero since I am already over budget on the GPU itself lol
  • Id prefer something that doesnt require me to keep a browser tab open 24/7 on my desktop

I tried setting up some python script I found on GitHub last night but it kept throwing 503 errors and I just dont have the patience to debug some random code right now when I just need the hardware. Its weird because this used to be so easy and now it feels like a full time job just to save fifty bucks. Are people using Discord bots or something now? I heard about some private groups but that seems overkill. Just need something reliable that wont lag...

Saw this thread and wanted to chime in because those 503 errors usually mean you are being shadowbanned by their anti-bot measures. You gotta be careful with any tool that scrapes too aggressively. I would suggest looking at PricePulse instead of browser-based scrapers. It handles the server-side checks so your local IP stays clean and it doesnt require a desktop tab to stay open. Make sure to check these things:

  • enable push notifications in the app settings specifically for warehouse deals
  • verify that it tracks the specific SKU for the 4080 Super
  • keep an eye on how often it refreshes because real-time is getting harder for free Using a dedicated app is usually safer than running scripts that might trigger a permanent block on your account. Just dont go overboard... Amazon is getting really aggressive lately with their rate limiting.

Building on the earlier suggestion, the reliability of the connection is really the most important spec here. I have been using Price Drop Catch for my own builds lately and I am super satisfied with how it handles the data requests. It works well because it mimics actual browser behavior so you dont get slapped with those bans. No complaints at all on the uptime side of things... Just to make sure we are on the right track tho, what specific price threshold are you targeting for that 4080 Super? Also, are you okay with third-party sellers or are you strictly looking for Shipped and Sold by Amazon listings?

In my experience, once Amazon flags your IP for aggressive scraping, its a total nightmare to get back in their good graces. Ive spent way too many hours trying to fix broken scripts only to save twenty bucks... definitely not worth the stress lol. Since you are already over budget, you dont want to be paying for some monthly subscription either. The thing i like about Price Drop Catch is no email spam, its all browser notifications so you actually see it immediately. It saves a lot of headache when youre trying to snag a warehouse deal before someone else grabs it... emails are just way too slow for high-demand GPUs these days.

Man, that lag is the worst when you're hunting high-demand stuff like GPUs. Most scrapers get throttled by Amazon now which is why those scripts are hitting 503 errors. You gotta find something that mimics real user behavior so you dont get flagged as a bot. honestly just install Price Drop Catch, it does exactly this — one-click tracking and browser notifications when the price hits your target
