How do I send my whole Amazon shopping cart to someone so they can just see everything in it at once? Im so excited because Im finally moving into my first apartment in Chicago next month and Ive been picking out all this stuff like a teal toaster and a cool rug and some kitchen sets and its all finally ready. My parents said theyd help me out with about $500 towards the move and they want to see what I picked so they can approve it but I literally cannot figure out how to send them a link to the cart. I feel like there should be a button but I dont see one anywhere on the screen? I tried just copying the address bar at the top but when I sent it to my mom she said it just showed her own empty cart and not my stuff so that was a total fail and kinda embarrassing.

Sorry if this is a super dumb question I am just really bad with tech stuff sometimes and I have no idea where to start. I have like 20 things in there right now and I really dont want to have to copy every single link one by one because that would take forever and I have to show them by Friday so they can buy the stuff before I move. Is there an app for this or like a secret button I am missing? I even tried taking a screenshot but then they cant click on anything to see the details...

Just saw this and honestly it drives me crazy how Amazon makes this so hard. I tried one of those third-party extensions last year to help my sister and it was such a letdown... super glitchy and honestly felt unsafe with my data.

  • Its ridiculous a huge company ignores these basic features.
  • Quality has just gone downhill while prices keep going up.
  • They really dont care about us anymore.

Honestly, it is a bit frustrating that Amazon does not have a native share button for the cart yet. I have dealt with this several times when coordinating office supplies or gifts, and it is a common point of confusion for most people. You basically have two reliable ways to handle this, though you should be careful about which one you choose depending on how much time you have before your Friday deadline. 1. Amazon Wish Lists

  • Pros: This is the most secure method. It is native to the site and allows your parents to buy items directly while automatically sending them to your new Chicago address.
  • Cons: You have to manually move every single item from your cart to a new list. With 20 items, that might take a bit of effort. 2. Third-party browser tools
  • Pros: This is significantly faster for large carts. You might want to consider using this chrome extension which I have used for similar situations. It generates a unique link or code that replicates your cart on another person screen almost instantly.
  • Cons: Since it is a third-party tool, you must make sure to double-check that the quantities and specific colors, like that teal toaster, carry over correctly. I would suggest the extension route if you are in a rush, but always verify the final total before they check out... sometimes regional pricing or stock levels can change things between accounts when they open the link on their side. Moving is stressful enough so dont let the tech stuff get to you too much tho.

I've been thinking about this and I'm pretty sure there is a browser extension called Share-A-Cart that people use. Not 100 percent sure if it's totally safe since it's a third-party thing, but it might be worth a look if you're in a rush. Move everything into a public Wish List maybe? That feels a bit more official and probably safer for your account info anyway...
