Hey everyone! I just put in my order for the new iPhone 16 Plus and I’m super stoked to get it in hand. Since it's a bit of an investment, I really want to make sure I have a solid tempered glass screen protector ready to go the second it comes out of the box.

I’ve been browsing Amazon and a few tech blogs, but the sheer number of options is getting a bit overwhelming. I see the generic 3-packs for ten bucks, but then brands like Spigen, ESR, and Belkin are charging significantly more. I’m trying to figure out if the premium ones are actually worth the extra cost or if the cheaper ones offer the same level of protection and clarity.

I’m specifically looking for something that includes a foolproof alignment frame—I’m notoriously bad at getting these on straight without trapping dust! Also, since the iPhone 16 Plus has such slim bezels, I’m worried about whether certain protectors might interfere with cases. Has anyone already picked one up or had great luck with a specific brand for the new 16 series? I’d love to hear your recommendations on which ones offer the best touch sensitivity and fingerprint resistance!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option... I know everyone is hyped on the Spigen and ESR stuff cuz they're easy on the wallet, but honestly, I've had a different experience when it comes to actual impact safety. If you're dropping nearly a grand on the 16 Plus, putting a budget protector on it feels like a huge risk to me. I've seen those mid-range ones shatter and still allow the actual screen to crack underneath—which is basically a nightmare scenario. I'd highkey suggest looking at the iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 for iPhone 16 Plus instead. It's definitely more expensive, but the tech inside is specifically for shock absorption and it's got a really smooth finish. Plus, their installation tray is literally foolproof—so you wont have to worry about the alignment. It plays nice with cases too, even with those slim bezels. Just make sure to install it in a steamy bathroom to keep the dust away. GL!!

> I’m trying to figure out if the premium ones are actually worth the extra cost or if the cheaper ones offer the same level of protection and clarity. I went through this last year. I basically compared iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ESR Armorite Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Plus vs iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Belkin UltraGlass 2 Treated Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Plus. Honestly, the ESR feels way more durable for half the price, while Belkin is thinner but pricier. I went with ESR cuz I'm cautious about drops, and I'm really happy with the clarity and no-dust install!! gl!

Ok so, i totally feel u on the overwhelm!! honestly, after testing a bunch of these, i highkey recommend sticking with the iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Plus. i mean, the generic 3-packs are okay for a backup, but they usually lack the premium oleophobic coating that actually keeps fingerprints away. basically, the Spigen glass feels just like the original screen. plus, that alignment tray is literally foolproof... i never get bubbles or dust anymore!! Given it's a brand new 16 Plus, i wouldn't risk cheap glass cuz it can mess with touch sensitivity or interfere with those slim bezels when you put a case on. Just spend the extra ten bucks for peace of mind and a perfect fit. anyway, congrats on the new phone!! 👍

Regarding what #4 said about "Respectfully, I'd consider another option... I know everyone..." - honestly I had a pretty rough time with the high-end stuff lately. I spent a fortune on a big brand name thinking it would be better, but it was a total letdown. I really wanted to love the premium gear but my experience was kinda trash tbh.

For forty bucks, I expected way more. The installation was okay, but the glass itself just felt brittle compared to what they claim.

Unfortunately, they dont come with a fancy alignment frame so I struggled with some bubbles, but the glass actually feels smoother under my thumb for a fraction of the cost.

The fingerprint resistance is not as good as expected and it definitely shows every smudge. I really wanted the expensive ones to be the answer since I'm clumsy too, but so far theyve just been a disappointment. Still looking for that perfect middle ground tho...

Sooo I've been thinking about your question for a few hours and honestly, I totally get the hesitation. You don't want to put a $2 piece of glass on a $900 phone, but paying $40 for one is also kinda crazy. Based on my experience testing dozen of these, the mid-tier brands are highkey where the value is at. Here is what I recommend for your 16 Plus: 1. iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Plus - This is basically the gold standard for budget-conscious enthusiasts. The alignment frame is literal perfection; you just drop it on and it self-adheres. It's way cheaper than the "premium" brands but the clarity is identical. 2. iPhone+16+Plus&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Torras Diamond Shield Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Plus - If you're worried about those slim bezels, this one is cut super precisely. It fits with almost every case I've tried and the oleophobic coating (for fingerprints) lasts way longer than the generic packs. Basically, the premium brands charge more for the name and better warranties, but for actual protection? These mid-range ones are just as solid. Just do the install in a steamy bathroom to keep the dust away. Good luck!! 👍
