Ngl late to the thread but I totally agree with ghnlgeoxdk about the edge coverage. Over the years I've realized that the tiny gaps at the corners are basically magnets for spiderweb cracks. If the glass doesnt go right to the edge of the active display area, youre asking for trouble when you drop it. In my experience, you should look at the iPhone+17+Air&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Torras Diamond Shield for iPhone 17 Air. It fits your $30 budget and honestly the technical side of their glass is legit. They use an ion-exchange process that reinforces the edges specifically so they dont chip as easily as the cheaper Spigen or ESR stuff. I've tried many different brands and Torras usually has a much better oleophobic coating too... basically feels like the original screen for months instead of getting all greasy after a week. One tip tho, even with the alignment kits, do the install in a steamy bathroom after a shower. It drops all the dust out of the air so you wont get those annoying bubbles. Its a game changer for getting a factory-perfect look.

stumbled on this late but honestly picking the right one depends on how you handle your gear. to find something that actually lasts you gotta think about your environment. are you more concerned about keeping micro-scratches away from your keys, or is impact protection against drops the main goal? also, are you planning on using a bulky case? sometimes the thickest glass doesnt fit well with certain shells and the edges start lifting after a week. lmk and i can probably point you in a better direction.

Hey! I'd suggest the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit. I used it on my 16 (pretty similar screen, I think?) and it's been solid. Installation's dummy-proof with the alignment frame, but *be careful* with dust! I'd suggest cleaning REALLY well before applying. Around $20-ish. Might want to consider getting two, just in case you mess up the first one.

Honestly, for $30, tempered glass is your best bet. I had issues with those fancy film ones; not as good as expected. Check Amazon for 'Tempered Glass iPhone 17 Air,' read reviews! You can usually get a 3-pack. Way cheaper if you mess one up. Good luck!

Skip glass! Seriously, for the 17 Air's crazy screen, try a self-healing TPU film. Scratches vanish! Spigen's are decent, around $20. Trust me, learned this the hard way after 5 years of iPhones!

Zagg's market share is HUGE! Maybe check their $25 options; read reviews first!

Forget fancy features. For the 17 Air, consider a tempered glass protector, regardless of brand. I've seen shattered unprotected screens disable emergency calling. I'd suggest prioritizing impact resistance over clarity. Make sure it properly covers the edges – that's where cracks usually start. Be careful of cheap adhesives; they can interfere with sensors. I've had bad luck with those over the years.

Zagg's been okay, but scratches showed after a year. Maybe try ESR? Cheaper, too.

Skip the pro install! Grab a Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit. I’ve installed dozens - perfect alignment every time. Amazing for the price and so satisfying to do yourself!

Hey! If you're near the coast like me, consider a ZAGG protector. The humidity can mess with some adhesives. $25, and it seems decent against scratches here.
