Finally upgrading from my old iPhone 11. That thing was a tank but the battery is completely shot and it feels way too bulky in my pocket. I just picked up the base iPhone 15. Keeping it light and thin is my main priority. I hate cases that add unnecessary width. I've spent a few hours looking at options. I saw the Apple Silicone case is a popular choice, but a lot of people mention it's a lint magnet and gets stuck in jeans. Not ideal. Then there is the Spigen Liquid Air. It looks slim enough, but I’m worried the texture feels a bit cheap or plasticky in hand. I also looked into Caudabe, specifically the Sheath or Synthesis. They seem to have a cult following but I'm not sure if they are actually as thin as they claim. My budget is around $50 total. For the screen, I need a protector that doesn't have that annoying gap around the edges. Some 'full coverage' ones apparently bubble up if the case is too tight. I just want a clean, almost 'naked' feel while still protecting the camera bump from scratches. What is the best minimalist case and screen protector combo currently out there?

^ This. Also, I have analyzed the cost of these accessories and most brands are overcharging for simple plastic. You do not need to spend $50 on a single case. I purchased the Spigen Thin Fit iPhone 15 Case for $17. It adds minimal bulk and lacks the sticky silicone texture that attracts lint. It has lasted me a year without stretching out. This works out to less than five cents per day for protection. For the screen, avoid the $40 professional installations at the mall. I bought the amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 15 two-pack for $11. It includes an alignment jig that prevents errors during application. I performed the installation in five minutes at my kitchen table. There are no bubbles or gaps around the edges. The total cost for this setup was $28. A retail store quoted me $75 for a similar bundle. I saved $47. I would rather put that money toward my truck's maintenance or the water bill. The Spigen case includes a small lip to protect the camera lenses. This provides the minimalist feel you want without the risk of scratches. It is a functional kit that avoids unnecessary spending. I have used this setup on my last three phones and it never fails.

Look, I spend ten hours a day under lift racks. Cases fail because they use cheap material that gets soft from oil. Listen, buy the Ringke Onyx iPhone 15 Case. It is $15 and has a grainy texture that does not slip when hands are dirty. For the screen, get the JETech Full Coverage Screen Protector iPhone 15. It costs $10 for a three-pack. It fits edge-to-edge without lifting. Total is $25.

  • ngl you're right about silicone being a total lint magnet.
  • tbh most ultra-thin cases lose their tight fit around the buttons after a few months.

@Reply #2 - good point! Look—are you dropping it on shop floors? Listen, you should just:

  • Get aramid fiber from Pitaka
  • Wait, no—I mean—just stick to Caudabe.
