For iPhone 12 mini I would take Apple MagSafe Charger. Best choice currently.

ngl I spent a ridiculous amount of time scrolling through different subreddits and tech forums before I actually bought anything for my 12 mini. My main concern was the size since iirc a lot of people were complaining that the smaller footprint makes it hard to align on standard upright stands. I ended up following a suggestion from a community thread about using a stand that lets you adjust the height slightly or has multiple coils. The one I got isn't anything fancy, but it totally solved that annoying 'searching for the sweet spot' issue I had with my old flat pad where it would just stop charging in the middle of the night. Basically, it taught me that community reviews are way more reliable than the marketing specs, especially for the mini. It still gets a little warm sometimes if I'm like, streaming video while it's docked, but that's something I saw mentioned in a few user reviews anyway so I wasn't too surprised by it. Definitely check what people are saying about coil alignment for this specific model before you buy.

Re: "ngl I spent a ridiculous amount of time..." - yeah I feel that. Finding a stand that actually fits the mini without it sliding off or missing the coils is a chore. I ended up going with the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe and its honestly the best purchase ive made for this phone.

  • Perfect Alignment: The magnets are strong. Since the 12 mini is so light, it snaps on instantly and never sags or gets misaligned. You dont have to mess around with it at 2 AM.
  • Proper Power: It handles the 12W peak limit of the mini perfectly. A lot of cheaper third-party stands struggle to provide consistent power to the smaller coil footprint.
  • Build Quality: The base is heavy. You can actually pull the phone off with one hand and the stand stays put. Super satisfied with how it looks on the nightstand too. Ive been using it for months and its super reliable. No more waking up to a dead battery because the phone shifted slightly.

For iPhone 12 mini I would definitely pay attention to the fit, especially if it's about cases.

Interesting question! For iPhone 12 mini it also depends on your usage style. What's your main concern?

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've spent quite a bit of time testing different charging layouts for the 12 mini and have been very satisfied with how the MagSafe system works once you find the right fit. Before I suggest anything specific tho, I have a couple of questions to help narrow it down:

  • Are you looking for a stand that keeps the screen visible at a desk, or a flat pad for bedside use?
  • Do you currently use a MagSafe-compatible case, or are you going caseless? Knowing this is pretty important because the smaller size of the mini means it doesnt always align well with standard non-magnetic chargers... I've had issues in the past where it just slides off center if the magnets arent there to lock it in place.
