Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the new Desert Titanium finish. I am upgrading from a regular iPhone 13, so the jump in size and features is going to be pretty massive for me. While I am super excited about that huge 6.9-inch display and the crazy camera upgrades, I am also a little nervous about keeping such an expensive piece of tech safe and making the most out of it from day one.

I have been browsing online, but there are so many options out there that it is getting a bit overwhelming. I am specifically looking for things that actually complement the new hardware features. For example, since Apple added the new Camera Control button on the side, I am worried about getting a case that makes it hard to use. Has anyone found a case that has a specific capacitive sapphire crystal cover or a really good cutout that does not feel awkward when trying to slide your finger to zoom?

Also, I read that the iPhone 16 series supports faster MagSafe charging and potentially faster wired charging speeds too. My old 20W brick from a few years ago probably will not cut it if I want to top up quickly. Are there any specific 35W or 45W chargers you all recommend that are compact enough for travel but reliable for daily use?

I am also debating on whether to go with a tempered glass screen protector or just leave it bare. With the thinner bezels this year, I am worried a screen protector might interfere with swipe gestures or look bulky. If you have found one that fits perfectly with the new slim borders and has an easy installation tray, please let me know.

I am basically looking to build a little starter kit for this phone. My budget is pretty flexible because I would rather spend a bit more on quality than replace cheap stuff in a month. Besides the standard case and screen protector, what are the absolute must-have accessories you are picking up for your iPhone 16 Pro Max to really level up the experience?

sooo, congrats on the upgrade!! the desert titanium is literally the best color this year. i'm pretty picky about tech specs, especially when it comes to power delivery and heat dissipation, so i totally get wanting the best gear for that 16 Pro Max. for charging, i’d compare the Anker 735 Charger GaNPrime 65W against the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Dual USB-C Wall Charger 45W with PPS. the anker is super tiny for travel, but the belkin has amazing PPS (Programmable Power Supply) support which is technically safer for ur long-term battery health cuz it regulates voltage more precisely to keep temps down. i personally use the belkin and i'm super satisfied with how cool it stays during fast charging. regarding the camera button, i’ve looked at the iPhone+16+Pro+Max+Case+with+MagSafe&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Beats iPhone 16 Pro Max Case with MagSafe vs the iPhone+16+Pro+Max&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Supcase UB Mag XT for iPhone 16 Pro Max. the beats case is awesome cuz it actually features a sapphire crystal pass-through for the camera control, so it feels native. the supcase is a tank for protection, but the cutout is quite deep, which might be annoying for sliding gestures... i'd go beats for the best tactile experience. also, definitely grab the iPhone+16+Pro+Max&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ESR Armorite Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Pro Max. its alignment tray is perfect for those thin bezels and the glass quality is top-tier. honestly, youre gonna love this setup!! cheers

I went through this recently and was so nervous about battery health that I stuck with the Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter just to be safe. Quick tip: maybe consider a case with a sapphire button cover so it doesnt feel scratchy? What are you leaning towards for the case?

In my experience, cheap chargers lack proper heat management. Grab the Ugreen Nexode 45W GaN Charger and iPhone+16+Pro+Max&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Ultra Hybrid T MagFit for iPhone 16 Pro Max for that button. Safety first, right?

Just caught this thread today and honestly, that Desert Titanium is a beauty but you really gotta be careful with the thermals if youre planning to use those higher charging speeds daily. Quick question before I dive deep into specs tho... are you planning to do a lot of ProRes video recording? That might change what kind of external storage or cable speeds you actually need.

  • Be careful with third-party cases for that camera button. Even some premium ones use conductive silicone which can lag compared to the sapphire crystal on the iPhone+16+Pro+Max+Case+with+MagSafe&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Beats iPhone 16 Pro Max Case with MagSafe.
  • Make sure to look for a charger with PPS (Programmable Power Supply). The Satechi 40W Dual USB-C GaN Compact Charger is a solid alternative to the ones mentioned because it seems to handle heat dissipation slightly better in my tests.
  • I would suggest the iPhone+16+Pro+Max&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass Elite for iPhone 16 Pro Max since it has reinforced edges that wont chip easily with the thinner bezels. Just want to make sure you dont accidentally wear down the battery health or lose the tactile feel of the new hardware!

Sooo, I totally feel u on the upgrade anxiety! I just went through the same thing with the jump in size. For that new camera button, I was super worried about cutouts feeling weird or clunky. Honestly, if u want it to work right, the iPhone+16+Pro+Max+Silicone+Case+with+MagSafe&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max Silicone Case with MagSafe is actually the best bet bc it has that sapphire crystal cover that passes through your touch signals perfectly. Most cheaper cases just have a big hole which makes it kinda awkward to slide your finger to zoom. For charging, dont waste money on the official Apple brick. I use the Anker 713 Charger Nano II 45W and it is SO small for travel but fast enough for the new charging speeds. It is a decent option and way more practical than a huge brick. About the screen, I highkey recommend a protector. I got the iPhone+16+Pro+Max+3-Pack&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ESR Tempered-Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Pro Max 3-Pack because it has an easy installation tray. It fits the slim borders perfectly and doesnt mess with swipes at all. Plus its like a fraction of the cost of the premium ones. Anyway, hope that helps u out!! peace
