Which MagSafe chargers are actually worth buying for the new iPhone 15 because I am honestly losing my mind with these cheap ones that keep disconnecting every five minutes? I finally upgraded from my ancient iPhone 11 so this is my first real experience using MagSafe as my primary way to charge and its been a total disaster so far. I bought some random generic puck from a gas station when I was in a rush and then tried a different brand I saw on a tech blog but both of them are terrible. They get so incredibly hot that my phone literally shows that charging on hold message halfway through the night. I wake up for work at 6am and my phone is only at 40% which is just unacceptable when you pay this much for a flagship device.

I live out in Phoenix so the ambient temperature is already high and I think thats making the overheating even worse. I really need something that stays cool and actually stays connected. I have a huge road trip coming up next Thursday to visit family and Im terrified of my phone dying while Im using GPS in the middle of nowhere. Im looking for something that has:

  • super strong magnets so it doesnt fly off when I hit a bump
  • some kind of cooling or just doesnt get as hot as a stove
  • fast charging speeds because I dont have time to wait 4 hours for a full battery

I have a budget of maybe $100 for a really good setup, maybe even a bit more if it includes a car mount too. Is the official Apple one the only way to go or are there third party ones that dont suck? Ive heard mixed things about Belkin and Anker lately and I just dont know who to trust anymore. My current one literally feels like its going to melt my case. Just tell me what you guys are using that actually works consistently please...

Re: "Honestly those cheap gas station pucks are basically..." - yeah, totally agree. Stumbled upon this while looking for Qi2 specs. I am very satisfied with my current gear because it actually hits 15W properly. For Phoenix heat, you need efficiency.

Agreed, those cheap pucks are basically tiny heaters. I once had a generic one get so hot it scorched my nightstand during a summer trip. Since you need reliability for that road trip, try the ESR MagSafe Car Mount with CryoBoost. The cooling fan is a lifesaver when the sun hits your dash, and it keeps the iPhone+15+charging+fast+eve&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPhone 15 charging fast even when youre using navigation.

Honestly those cheap gas station pucks are basically just fire hazards. Since you are in Phoenix, the ambient heat is killing your charging speeds because the iPhone thermal throttles as soon as it gets warm. To actually get the full 15W fast charging without the disconnects, you really need gear that is MFM certified or uses the new Qi2 standard.

  • ESR MagSafe Car Charger with CryoBoost 15W
  • This is a lifesaver in hot climates because it has a built-in fan that blows cold air on the back of the phone while it charges.
  • Anker MagGo Wireless Charger Pad (Qi2) 15W
  • Super solid efficiency and the magnets are way stronger than those generic ones you have been using.
  • Belkin BoostCharge Pro MagSafe 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand 15W
  • This is my go-to for the nightstand since it is heavy enough that it wont slide around when you grab the phone. That ESR car mount is definitely what you want for the road trip tho. The active cooling makes a massive difference when the sun is hitting your dashboard and the GPS is running.
