Any leather wallet cases available for the Pixel 9 Pro yet?

I just pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro and I'm super excited to get it in hand, but I’m struggling to find a high-quality leather wallet case to go with it. I’ve been using a genuine leather folio for my older phones for years because I love having my ID and a credit card tucked away without needing a separate wallet. However, looking around right now, most of the big-name brands seem to only have basic TPU or silicone options available for the launch.

I’m specifically looking for something made of real top-grain or vegetable-tanned leather that will develop a nice patina over time, rather than the cheap 'PU leather' stuff that peels after a month. MagSafe compatibility would be a huge plus since I use a magnetic car mount, and I really need it to have at least three card slots. I checked Bellroy since they usually partner with Google, but I’m not seeing a full folio style yet. Does anyone know if companies like Nomad, Snakehive, or Vaja have announced anything for the 9 Pro series? I'd hate to carry this beautiful phone around unprotected while waiting for the premium cases to drop. Does anyone have a lead on a high-end leather wallet case that’s actually shipping now or in the next week?

For your situation, I'd suggest checking out some of the high-quality but more affordable options on Amazon while waiting for the $100+ bespoke cases. In my experience, you can find decent SHIELDON Genuine Leather Wallet Case for Pixel 9 Pro or HOOMIL Leather Wallet Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro for around $30. They're actually real leather and usually ship way faster than the boutique brands, tbh. Just make sure to check if they've added the MagSafe magnets yet!! Good luck with the new phone!

Sooo I feel u on this. I just went through the same hunt for my own pre-order, and honestly, the launch options for high-end leather are kinda disappointing right now. Most of the "big names" are definitely lagging.

In my experience, Snakehive Vintage Leather Wallet for Pixel 9 Pro is basically your best bet for that vegetable-tanned feel that actually patinas. I had one for my old phone and it aged beautifully, though I did have some issues with the magnetic clasp being a bit weak if you stuff the card slots.

Here's what I recommend checking out:
* Snakehive Vintage Leather Wallet for Pixel 9 Pro: Real top-grain nubuck, 3 card slots, and a kickstand. Super tactile but not MagSafe compatible natively.
* Torro Leather Folio Case for Pixel 9 Pro: Usually has MagSafe-style magnets, but it's a bit bulkier.

I checked Nomad Modern Leather Folio, and unfortunately, they don't have the 9 Pro listed yet. If you need it NOW, Snakehive is usually fast, but yeah, the lack of MagSafe is a bummer. Hope that helps! 👍

I totally agree that those boutique brands take forever to ship after launch, but as a bit of a DIY guy, I wouldn't let the lack of 'built-in' MagSafe stop you. If you find a killer top-grain folio that's missing the magnets, it's actually super easy to retrofit it yourself. The technical trick is to use a high-quality MagSafe adapter ring—specifically one with N52 neodymium magnets and 3M VHB adhesive. Most factory cases actually bury the magnets too deep under the leather, which kills the magnetic pull (flux). By applying a ring to a case like the Blackbrook Leather Wallet Case, you're getting a much stronger connection for your car mount than most integrated solutions. Also, if you want that patina to develop properly without the leather drying out, look into the specific tanning process. If it's truly vegetable-tanned, hit it with a light coat of high-grade neatsfoot oil right out of the box. It protects the fibers while the phone is in that *vulnerable* new state. Honestly, building your own setup is often better than settling for a 'pro' version that cuts corners on the magnet strength.

Similar situation here - I went through this exact struggle last year with the 8 series. Honestly, in my experience, the premium leather brands like Vaja always take a few extra weeks after launch to get their fit right, you know? I've tried many day-one "genuine leather" cases from random brands and they basically always end up being cheap plastic. Are you looking for a specific leather thickness, or just that patina look?

Respectfully, I'd consider another option besides rushing into a folio right now. Honestly, I've seen too many people drop their brand new Pixels while fumbling with those flap covers... it's risky!

1. Skip the cheap leather for now cuz it offers zero drop protection.
2. Get a rugged temporary case while waiting for the premium stuff.
3. Make sure whatever you eventually buy has a solid internal frame—safety first! Just my two cents tho.

Regarding what #5 said about "I totally agree that those boutique brands take..." - man, he is so right!! Those wait times are absolutely killer when you have a shiny new Pixel 9 Pro just sitting there. Honestly, I am all about that DIY energy too!! If you want the best bang for your buck, just check out some independent leather makers on Etsy. You seriously can't go wrong with custom shops on there! Most of them use incredible top-grain leather that is way better than the stuff you get from big corporations anyway. Just find a style you love and add your own magnets like the other guy mentioned. It is a total game changer and saves so much money. You get that amazing premium feel without the big price tag or the month-long wait!! Definitely give it a shot, you will be so happy with how it turns out!!
