I just pre-ordered the Google Pixel 9, and I’m beyond excited to get my hands on it! However, I realized my current wired setup isn't going to cut it anymore, and I really want to find the perfect pair of wireless earbuds to complement the new hardware. I’ve been looking into the Pixel Buds Pro 2 since the integration seems like a no-brainer, but I’ve also heard great things about the Sony WF-1000XM5 and even the Bose QuietComfort Ultra for their noise canceling capabilities.
I’m looking for something that handles calls clearly while I'm commuting, but sound quality for music is my top priority. My budget is around $200-$300, so I'm willing to invest in something premium if the features are worth it. I’m a bit confused about which ones will actually take full advantage of the Pixel's features, like Fast Pair or spatial audio. Has anyone here tested different brands with the Pixel 9 yet? I'd love to know which ones offer the most stable connection and the best overall experience. Which wireless earbuds would you recommend as the absolute best match for the Pixel 9?

Honestly... for the price? Get the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2. I tried the Sony WF-1000XM5 and unfortunately they were sooo uncomfortable for long calls, basically a waste of $300 imo. The Pixel integration is actually worth it for Fast Pair alone! 👍
Curious about one thing: how much do you actually care about LDAC support or high-res codecs? I mean, the Sony WF-1000XM5 sounds incredible, but the technical setup is kinda different on Pixels compared to Xperia phones.
Since sound quality is your top priority, I'm thinking about these two options besides the ones already mentioned:
* Sennheiser+Momentum+True+Wireless+4&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 - These are basically the gold standard for audio fidelity in this price range imo.
* Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds - If you want the absolute best ANC for your commute, nothing else even comes close, though the mic is just okay.
But yeah, before I dive deeper into the specs, does your music library actually use lossless files? It kinda changes which technical features you'll actually benefit from on the Pixel 9!

Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!
> Which wireless earbuds would you recommend as the absolute best match for the Pixel 9? Late to the party but I gotta weigh in on the long-term ownership side of things. I have gone through pretty much every major flagship pair over the last few years, and one thing I have learned is that initial reviews rarely tell you about the firmware fatigue that kicks in after six months. Since you are on a Pixel 9, you gotta be careful about chasing high-res specs like LDAC without considering the actual stability. In my experience, running those high bitrates on a daily commute can lead to some pretty annoying connection drops when you are moving through high-interference areas like train stations. It also chews through your battery cycles way faster than you would expect. My biggest warning tbh is to look closely at how these brands handle Bluetooth LE Audio and the LC3 codec. The Pixel 9 is basically built for this standard, but a lot of hardware that claims to be ready is still kinda buggy with the handoff. I have had premium sets that worked flawlessly on day one but became a stuttering mess after a couple of Android security updates because the manufacturer was slow to push out patches. Just a few things to keep in mind for the long haul:
