Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 7, and while I’m absolutely loving the phone so far, I’m having a hard time finding a car mount that feels like a perfect fit. My old generic cradle mount is starting to give out, and the Pixel 7 feels a bit more substantial than my last device.
I’m specifically looking for something that won’t interfere with the unique camera bar on the back, as I’m worried about it getting scratched or not sitting flush in a standard grip. Also, I’m really interested in a mount that supports wireless charging to keep things tidy, but I’m not sure which ones play nice with the Pixel's charging speeds. Stability is a huge factor for me too—my daily commute involves some pretty rough roads, so I need something that won’t wobble or drop the phone the second I hit a pothole.
Are you guys using magnetic mounts with a specific MagSafe-style case, or do you prefer the traditional gravity/clamp style? If you've found a mount that holds the Pixel 7 securely without blocking the side buttons or interfering with the sensors, I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Totally agree with the above! That camera bar is a nightmare tbh. For those rough roads, you gotta try the ESR Halolock Magnetic Wireless Car Charger with CryoBoost. Use it with a MagSafe case and the cooling fan actually helps maintain fast charging speeds without the Pixel overheating—which is a huge issue on long drives. It’s rock solid and won't touch the camera bar at all. Seriously worth it!!
yo! stumbled upon this discussion and had to jump in cuz i was in the same boat last month. honestly, the camera bar on the pixel 7 is such a wierd design for mounts, but i think i found a budget-friendly way to handle it without breaking the bank or scratching that glass visor. so im still kinda learning the technical side of Qi charging specs, but i found that the CHGeek Wireless Car Charger 15W Qi Fast Charging Auto-Clamping Car Phone Holder is a realy solid value for the price. it says 15W on the box, but realistically with the pixel 7's software limits, it probably hits closer to 10-12W, which is basically enough to keep the battery from draining while you're using navigation. the best part is the auto-clamping arms—they sit just low enough that they dont even touch the camera bar. plus, it has a built-in capacitor so you can still open the arms to grab ur phone after you turn off the car engine. super handy! for those rough roads you mentioned, i'd actually suggest skiping the vent mounts and going for something more fixed. the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Universal Car Mount Phone Holder is basically a classic for a reason. its not the wireless version, but its cheaper and has a telescopic arm that makes it realy stable. i mean, i hit some nasty potholes daily and my phone hasnt budged once. maybe just use a high-quality cable for faster charging anyway?? idk but im super satisfied with how it holds up so far. gl!! 👍
Ok so I tried these:
1. iOttie Easy One Touch 6 Dashboard Mount (actually safer)
2. Spigen OneTap Dashboard Mount (kinda wobbly)
iOttie wins! Tip: *Seriously* tighten joints for safety.
dude, I totally feel u on the camera bar thing. It's so wierdly shaped compared to other phones!! I was terrified of scratching mine too when I first got it. I basically spent a month testing different setups on my daily commute cuz the roads here are literally trash and my old mount kept dropping my phone lol. I've tried a few different styles and honestly, here is how they stack up for the Pixel 7 specifically: 1. **The Magnetic Setup:** I currently use the Peak Design Everyday Case for Pixel 7 paired with the Peak Design Car Mount - Wireless Charging. This is highkey my favorite setup ever. - **Pros:** Seriously, the magnets are insane. It uses their SlimLink tech so it's rock solid even on rough roads. It doesn't touch the camera bar at all cuz the mount is centered below it. - **Cons:** You definately have to buy their specific case, which is a bit pricey, but the quality is realy top-tier. 2. **The Auto-Clamp Setup:** Before I went magnetic, I used the iOttie Auto Sense 2 Wireless Charging Dashboard & Windshield Mount. - **Pros:** It's super convenient cuz the arms close automatically. It handles the weight of the Pixel 7 no problem and the wireless charging is pretty reliable for a universal mount. - **Cons:** I found that if I didnt position it perfectly, the side clamps would sometimes press against the volume buttons. Plus, it feels a bit more bulky on the dash compared to the sleek magnetic ones. **The Verdict:** If you want the most stable and tidy experience, go with the **Peak Design** combo. It solves the camera bar issue perfectly and looks so much cleaner. But if u dont want to switch cases, the **iOttie Auto Sense** is basically the best traditional cradle I've used. gl with the new phone!! 👍
