I’m looking to level up my videography with the Pixel 8 Pro. I need a reliable gimbal that handles its weight and high-quality add-on lenses, specifically for macro shots. Does anyone have experience with Moment or Hohem gear on this specific model? What are your top picks for a professional-looking mobile rig?

This^ Also wanted to add, coming back to this, I actually tried a cheap setup first and the balance was just... off. - Apexel 100mm Macro Lens: Solid budget glass that doesnt need a specific case.
- Ulanzi PT-4 Gimbal Counterweight: Use this to help ur motors handle the phone's weight. Honestly, dont overspend on glass if you can just balance it properly! It still looks pro and saved me a ton of cash. gl

In my experience, using the Moment 10x Macro Lens (T-Series) was actually kinda disappointing. • Weight: The Pixel is heavy! My Hohem iSteady M6 Kit basically struggled to stay level.
• Alignment: You gotta buy the Moment Case for Pixel 8 Pro or ur lens wont fit right. It's pricey tho, but honestly cheaper than buying gear that dont work together. Good luck!

Ok so, for your situation, I recommend looking at a beefier gimbal setup. The Pixel is a heavy phone, and many standard mobile gimbals just dont have the torque to handle it once you add glass. I would suggest the Zhiyun Crane M3S for a truly pro-level rig. It’s technically a compact camera gimbal, so it handles the weight of a phone plus lens effortlessly without the motors getting hot. Regarding lenses, if the usual suspects arent cutting it, definitely check out the Reeflex Pro Series Macro 75mm. The edge-to-edge clarity is stellar for high-res mobile shots. Another solid choice is the ShiftCam 75mm Long Range Macro Lens. I like it because you get a decent 10cm focus distance... basically, you wont block your own light like you do with traditional macro lenses. It depends on your needs, but Zhiyun for stability and Reeflex for optics is a killer combo!! gl!!

Curious about one thing: are you set on using a phone-specific gimbal, or are you open to small camera gimbals?? 1. Specs: The P8P is 213g. Add a Sandmarc Macro Lens Edition - 25mm and you're pushing 300g.
2. Reliability: Most mobile gimbals peak at 290g payload. Before I recommend the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 or Insta360 Flow AI Smartphone Gimbal, whats your total expected weight? Dont wanna see u fry those motors!

Ive been thinking about your setup for a bit and honestly, I kinda have a different perspective than the others here. I feel like people get too caught up in the heavy gear without looking at the workflow first. Are you more interested in a single-brand ecosystem where everything is designed to fit together perfectly, or are you okay with a more universal setup that might require more manual balancing? I've noticed some brands really prioritize the aesthetic and ease of use, while others are purely about the optics and raw power, so knowing your priority would help a lot. Also, what's your actual budget for this? Are we talking hobbyist having fun or actual pro client work level? It makes a huge difference in whether the extra weight of a complex rig is actually worth the hassle tho.
