I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Pixel 10 today and im honestly so hyped to get my hands on it! Ive been rocking a beat up Pixel 6 for way too long now so this is a massive upgrade for me. The thing is i really want to move away from cables and actually use wireless charging for once but im kinda lost with all the options out there.

I did some digging online and everyone keeps pointing towards the Pixel Stand 2 but man it is pricey and i read some comments saying the fan inside is actually pretty loud when its working hard? That would drive me crazy since this is going right on my nightstand while I sleep. Then i saw some people talking about these new Qi2 chargers but i cant find a straight answer on if the Pixel 10 even supports the magnetic alignment thing or if it will just charge at a snails pace on a non-google pad.

Im over in the UK and dont really want to spend more than like £50 if I can help it since I already dropped a ton on the phone itself. I just want something reliable that wont cook the battery. Should i just bite the bullet and get the official one or is there a third party brand that actually hits the fast charging speeds without the annoying fan noise...

honestly i would suggest being careful with cheap third-party pads. most wont hit top speeds and could just heat up your phone. you might want to consider the Google Pixel Stand 2nd Gen 23W despite the fan. it actually protects the battery from heat damage. if the noise is a dealbreaker, just make sure to enable silent charging in the phone settings... it slows down but keeps things cool and quiet.

Like someone mentioned, the official stand has some perks, but I disagree that its worth the high price! You can get an amazing silent setup for way less...

^ This. Also, it’s honestly so disappointing that Google still hasn't sorted out a clear magnetic standard... makes it such a headache for us. I've had issues with heat on cheap pads and its just frustrating how much we have to worry about battery wear. If you want something safe, the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Pad EP-P2400 is a solid, quiet choice. It really sucks we have to compromise tho...

Re: "honestly i would suggest being careful with cheap..." - yeah definitely agree on the heat thing. If you want to avoid fan noise, you basically have to sacrifice those top 23W speeds since they require active cooling. For a silent nightstand setup under £50, just look for 15W EPP certified pads.
