What are the best rugged cases and screen protectors for the Pixel 9 Pro that wont mess with the new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor? I just upgraded from my 7 Pro and im super hyped but i heard the screen protector thickness can really screw up the biometrics this year. I usually go with Spigen or Bellroy but i need something heavy duty since I take my phone on weekend hikes up in the Rockies. I spent a fortune on this thing so my budget for protection is around $80 for both. Has anyone tried the Whitestone Dome glass on this specific model yet or does it cause issues with the scan? I dont wanna waste money on glass that makes the phone a pain to unlock...

Re: "Bookmarked, thanks!" - honestly saw this earlier and had to jump in because i feel like people underestimate how much of a beating phones take in the mountains. I totally get the love for glass, but if youre really doing the Rockies, tempered glass can be super brittle when it gets cold or takes a direct hit. I actually went a different route for safety and reliability. I’ve been using the Mous Limitless 5.0 Aramid Fibre for Pixel 9 Pro and it is absolutely amazing! The AiroShock tech they use is no joke... I’ve dropped mine on literal boulders and nothing. I respectfully disagree with going the standard glass route too. Instead of the usual Whitestone that might be a pain to install, check out the Mous Screen Protector Hybrid Glass for Pixel 9 Pro. It’s this wild mix of plastic and glass so it wont shatter like the standard stuff, and the fingerprint scanner works literally every single time without fail. It's super thin so you dont get that annoying lag when trying to unlock. It might push your $80 budget by like ten bucks if you dont find a sale, but seriously, for a phone this expensive? Its worth the extra peace of mind. You’re gonna have a blast taking photos with that new sensor anyway... it’s such a massive upgrade from the 7 Pro!

I actually dropped my phone on a granite slab last weekend during a trail run. The Caseology Athlex Active Grip Case for Pixel 9 Pro held up perfectly and it didnt break my bank. For the sensor, I went with the amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass for Pixel 9 Pro. Its super thin so the ultrasonic scanner picks up my print every single time without lag. Pro tip... re-scan your fingers after the glass is on.
