So I finally pulled the trigger on the Pixel 10 Pro after rocking my old Pixel 5 for way too long. The battery on that thing was basically a paperweight at this point and I couldnt wait any longer. I'm super excited for the new camera stuff but man, the fact that they don't include a charger in the box anymore is still such a pain. I've been looking around online trying to figure out what to actually buy because I want to make sure I'm getting the actual fast charging speeds and not just some "slowly charging" notification all night.
I did some digging and read that the Pixel 10 Pro supposedly supports up to 45W or something like that, but it has to be a PPS charger? I saw the official Google 45W USB-C brick on their store but it's kinda pricey for what it is. Then I look at Amazon and see all these Anker and Ugreen blocks that are 65W or even 100W. Some people on Reddit were saying that even if a charger is 100W, it might not charge the Pixel at full speed if it doesn't have the right PPS (Programmable Power Supply) profile or whatever. It's honestly confusing as hell. Like, does it need to be a specific brand or just have that PPS label?
I'm based in Chicago and I'm trying to stay under like 40 or 50 bucks for a couple of options. I need one for my office desk and one for my nightstand. I'm also worried about heat because my old phone used to get super hot when I used a random MacBook charger on it. I travel a lot for work so if there's a compact one that actually works that would be awesome. I just want something reliable that wont kill the battery health in six months.
What are you guys actually using for the 10 Pro? Are the third-party ones actually hitting the max speeds or should I just bite the bullet and get the official Google one to be safe? I don't want to waste money on a "fast" charger that takes two hours to top off...

I went through this exact same headache when I got mine last month. I was honestly so annoyed that Google sells a 1000 dollar phone without the brick, so I refused to pay their premium for the official one. I ended up grabbing the Anker 713 Charger Nano II 45W for my travel bag and it's been perfect. It's tiny, way smaller than the Google brick, and it definitely triggers the rapid charging message every single time. PPS is the big thing you gotta watch for though. I tried using my old laptop charger at first and it was painfully slow because it lacked that specific tech. For my nightstand, I actually went with the Ugreen Nexode 65W GaN Charger because it has multiple ports. It's super convenient to charge my watch and phone at once. I've been really satisfied with how cool it stays even when it's pushing max speeds. Quick tip for ya: ignore the big wattage numbers on the front of the box and check the back for PPS support. Specifically, look for something that covers the 21V or 11V ranges. Also, dont forget the cable! I used a cheap one at first and it throttled everything. I switched to the Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W and everything's been smooth since. No need to spend a fortune on the official stuff honestly.

Like someone mentioned, PPS lets the phone control voltage so it doesnt cook. Are you using the stock cable tho?

It is super confusing, but basically you just need to look for PPS support in the specs. Branding doesnt matter as much as the actual power profile. In my experience, if the charger doesnt explicitly mention PPS 3.3V-11V at 5A, you're gonna be stuck at slower speeds regardless of whether the box says 65W or 100W. I've used plenty of non-Google bricks over the years that work perfectly fine without the 'official' tax, as long as that spec is there. To help narrow it down tho, I have a couple questions:
- Are you looking for a single-port dedicated charger for each spot, or do you want one big multi-port hub for the office?
- Do you already have 5A rated cables? Most standard cables are only 3A, which will cap you at 30W even with a 45W brick. Getting the right cable is honestly half the battle with these new Pixels.

What's the amperage rating on your current cables? I've been happy with the Samsung 45W USB-C Fast Charger EP-T4510 as it supports the 5A PPS profile needed for max speeds.
