Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Google Pixel 9 Pro in that stunning Hazel color. It honestly looks so sleek with the new matte finish and the updated camera bar design that I’m having a hard time convincing myself to put a case on it at all. However, I know myself—I’m a bit of a klutz, and the thought of that first scratch on the polished frame is already giving me anxiety.
I’m looking for the absolute best clear case recommendations that won't hide the phone's aesthetic. In the past, I’ve had some pretty bad luck with clear cases for my older Pixels. Most of the cheap TPU ones I’ve tried ended up turning a nasty shade of yellow within just a couple of months, making the whole phone look cheap and aged. I’m really hoping to find something that stays crystal clear for the long haul or at least has some solid anti-yellowing technology.
I have a few specific requirements I'm trying to juggle. First, I really need a case that has a decent raised lip around the new "floating pill" camera island. Since that area is so prominent now, I’m worried about it getting scuffed every time I set it down on a table. Second, I’ve recently started using MagSafe-compatible accessories like car mounts and wallets, so a clear case with strong integrated magnets would be a massive plus, as long as the ring doesn't look too distracting.
I’ve been eyeing the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and the Mous Clarity, but I’ve heard mixed things about button tactility and how bulky they feel in the hand. I also saw that Google has their own official clear case this year, but is it actually worth the premium price compared to third-party brands?
For those of you who already have your hands on the Pixel 9 Pro or have been researching cases, what are you leaning toward? Are there any specific brands that managed to solve the yellowing issue while still providing decent drop protection? I'd love to hear your experiences!

In my experience, you gotta look for cases with a polycarbonate back to stop yellowing—TPU always fails eventually. The Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro is solid, but if you're worried about transparency, check out the dbrand Ghost Case for Google Pixel 9 Pro—they literally guarantee it won't yellow. Basically, clear cases yellow because UV light and oils react with soft TPU. To keep that Hazel fresh, you actually want a hard polycarbonate back. In my experience, these are better options:
- Ringke Fusion Magnetic for Google Pixel 9 Pro - great budget pick with solid protection.
- Torras Magnetic Guardian for Google Pixel 9 Pro - better button tactility and magnets.
Be careful with magnets tho... make sure they're secure for ur mount! gl

yo honestly that hazel is such a vibe!! i'm super happy with how my clear setup shows off the camera bar, but i gotta ask... r u more worried about keeping it thin or is max drop protection the main goal? also, whats ur budget like? basically just wanna see if bulk or price is the dealbreaker cuz some high-end ones r seriously pricey lol

Late to the party but man, I feel your pain on the yellowing thing so much. It’s actually exhausting trying to find a clear case that doesn’t turn into a gross amber mess after a few months. I’ve gone through so many premium options over the years and honestly, most of them feel like a total ripoff. I’ve been eyeing the Caseology Capella MagSafe for Pixel 9 Pro because it’s at least cheaper than the big names, but I’m still so cautious about it. It’s just disheartening when you spend nearly a grand on a beautiful Hazel phone and then the industry expects you to keep buying $70 plastic shells like the Casetify Impact Case Clear for Pixel 9 Pro just to show it off. I remember my old Pixel 7 pro looked like a literal banana after two months in a clear case... made the whole thing look so cheap. It’s like, why even bother with the nice colors if we have to hide them behind a yellowed mess or pay a subscription fee in replacement cases... just venting tbh cuz the price-to-quality ratio is usually such a bummer.

Before I give advice, quick question: how often do you use those MagSafe mounts on rough terrain? I’m highkey obsessed with drop safety and reliability!! In my experience, some magnets just don’t meet industry standards for heavy devices. I’ve seen clear setups fail during high-velocity impacts before, which was basically a nightmare... I just wanna ensure ur Hazel finish stays 100% secure tho!

Late to the party but ugh I totally feel your pain on this!! It is literally the most frustrating thing ever when you spend all that money on a gorgeous Hazel finish and then the clear case turns into a yellowing mess after like, two months. I hate how it makes the phone look so gross and cheap... it drives me crazy! And honestly the anxiety about that camera bar is so real. One bad drop and that polished frame is toast if the case isnt built right. You really need something that prioritizes safety and long term performance above all else. Honestly, just look at OtterBox and pick one of their clear options. You seriously cant go wrong with them! Their focus on reliability is just fantastic and they are so amazing for keeping the phone safe. Just grab any clear one from them and youll be so happy!
