I just upgraded to the Pixel 10 Pro XL, but I am confused about which brick to get since it is not included. I want to take advantage of the maximum charging speeds and need something with PPS support.

  • Portable GaN options
  • PPS 3.0 compatibility

Which third-party brands stay cool while hitting those top speeds?

For your situation, I would suggest sticking to well-known GaN brands because I've had some bad luck with generic ones getting too hot. I'm still kinda figuring out all the PPS 3.0 stuff myself, but these two have worked really well for me:

  • Anker 715 Charger Nano II 65W
  • UGREEN Nexode 45W USB C Charger GaN The Anker one is literally so tiny and stays highkey cool even when it's working hard. I think? it's probably the most reliable one I've tried. On the other hand, the Ugreen is also reallyyy solid and usually costs a bit less. Basically, both stay cool and hit those speeds, but just make sure to use a good cable or it wont matter lol. Be careful with those cheap bricks from random sites tho... not worth the risk!! gl!

> Which third-party brands stay cool while hitting those top speeds? Story time: I went through this exact same headache recently when I was testing out different charging curves on my own gear. Honestly, I spent way too much time obsessing over the PPS 3.0 specs lol. Basically, for the Pixel 10 Pro XL to hit those top speeds without turning into a literal toaster, you need a brick that supports high-amp PPS profiles. I tried a few generic ones and they were realy hot to the touch... kinda scary tbh. I ended up using the Satechi 66W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger and it has been amazing cuz the GaN tech is just way more efficient at handling the heat. Also messed around with the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W Wall Charger which is super tiny but still packs the right PPS stages. Technicaly, PPS lets the phone request specific voltage steps like 11V at 4A instead of just 9V or 15V. This is what keeps the phone cool while charging fast!! I dont think you can go wrong with either. Just my two cents from digging into the technical stuff. Good luck!

I went through this last year when I realized I was overpaying for everything lol. Honestly, I found that the Spigen 45W USB C Charger GaN II ArcStation Pro is actually fantastic for the price! It stays super cool and handles PPS perfectly... I think? Im still kinda learning the tech side but it charges my phone SO FAST! Its an amazing budget option for the Pixel. Hope it helps u out!!

@Reply #4 - good point! Spigen is usually a solid bet if you want to save a few bucks. Just catching up on the thread and it looks like Anker and Ugreen are the top picks for the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL so far. I would suggest being a bit cautious with the tiny GaN bricks though. Even though they're efficient, some brands handle heat way better than others when they're actually pushing those PPS 3.0 speeds. It's kinda tricky because one person's cool is another person's way too hot, so you might want to consider the build quality over just the smallest size. Before you decide, are you mostly looking for a dedicated home charger or something small for travel? Also, do you have a specific budget in mind, or are you just looking for the best performance?
