Which fast chargers work best with the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL?

Hey everyone! I’m super hyped because I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. It’s a massive upgrade from my old device, but I realized it doesn't come with a charging brick in the box anymore. I really want to make sure I’m getting the most out of the fast-charging capabilities this time around, especially since the Pro XL models usually have those beefy batteries that take forever to fill up on a standard plug.

I’ve been doing some digging, but the technical specs are honestly a bit confusing. I keep seeing mentions of USB-C Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) being absolutely necessary to hit the advertised peak speeds. My old chargers are mostly 18W or 20W from a few years ago, and I’m pretty sure they won’t trigger the 'Charging Rapidly' status on this beast. I’ve heard rumors that the 10 Pro XL might support up to 45W or higher, so I’d hate to be bottlenecked by a weak brick.

I’m specifically looking for recommendations on third-party chargers that are reliable. I’ve looked at the official Google 45W USB-C charger, but it’s a bit pricey and a little bulky for travel. Has anyone had success with brands like Anker (maybe the Nano series?) or Ugreen on the newer Pixels? I’m particularly interested in those compact GaN chargers that have multiple ports, but I’m worried about whether they actually support the specific PPS protocols the Pixel needs to keep the heat down while fast charging.

Safety is also a big concern for me—I don’t want to fry my expensive new phone with a cheap knock-off, but I also don't want to overpay for a name brand if there's a better alternative.

For those of you who already have your hands on the Pixel 10 Pro XL, which specific wall plugs are you using to get the fastest possible juice-up? Does it actually hit those high speeds with third-party gear, or should I just stick to the official Google brick to be safe?

yo, congrats on the pre-order! I'm lowkey jealous cuz that screen is gonna be massive. I totally feel u on the charger situation tho... it's honestly such a headache that they dont include the brick anymore, especially when they charge so much for the phone. > I keep seeing mentions of USB-C Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) being absolutely necessary to hit the advertised peak speeds. Ur 100% right about the PPS thing. Honestly, I had issues with an older 'fast' charger I bought for like $15 and it barely triggered the fast charging because it lacked that specific protocol. It was SO frustrating to see it taking 2 hours to charge. If u wanna save some cash but still get those 45W speeds, I'd basically skip the official Google one... it's just too bulky and overpriced imo. I've been using the Anker 313 Charger (Ace, 45W) and it's been solid. It's usually around $20-$25 on Amazon which is a steal compared to the official ones. It's super tiny and fits in a pocket easily. If ur looking for a GaN multi-port for travel, I've had good luck with the UGREEN Nexode 65W USB C Wall Charger. It handles PPS perfectly so the phone actually pulls the full wattage. Unfortunately, I've found that some cheaper GaN bricks from random brands get REALLY hot, which isn't great for the battery, but the Ugreen ones seem okay. Just a heads up tho, make sure ur cable is rated for 5A or the 45W speeds wont even kick in. Anyway, hope that helps! gl with the new phone peace

Late to the party but +1 to what was said earlier. To hit that 45W peak safely without the 'Google tax,' you basically need those PPS protocols you mentioned. In my experience, Ugreen Nexode 45W Dual USB C GaN Charger is a solid budget bet for around $25. It handles the technical voltage steps Pixels need to stay cool. I'm always cautious with third-party gear, but this one is actually reliable for the price. Peace

tbh I kinda disagree with everyone saying u *have* to go out and buy a dedicated phone brick right away. Ngl I'm still pretty new to all the technical power delivery stuff, but I’ve been trying a more "DIY" approach to my charging setup lately. If u already have a modern laptop that charges via USB-C (like a MacBook or a newer Dell), that brick is probably way more powerful than 45W and most of the newer ones actually support the PPS tech u need anyway! Instead of dropping more cash on a name-brand plug, I actually picked up a MakerHawk USB-C Power Meter to test my existing gear first. It’s been super fun (and a bit of a learning curve) to see the actual wattage jumping around in real-time. It totally opened my eyes to the fact that the cable is often the bottleneck, not the brick itself! I’m still figuring things out, but imo it’s way more satisfying to test what u already have before buying more plastic. Just a thought for anyone else who likes to tinker with their tech. Does anyone know if the 10 Pro XL is super picky about the E-marker chips in the cables too?
