I just got the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and the battery life is great, but I really need a second charger for travel. Since this phone supports 125W TurboPower, I want to make sure I buy something that actually hits those speeds without damaging the battery.

I am specifically looking for:

  • A reliable GaN charger that supports Motorola's fast charging protocols
  • High-wattage cables that are at least 6 feet long
  • Affordable alternatives to the official Moto brick

I've seen some 100W PD chargers online, but I'm confused if they'll trigger the TurboPower animation. Does anyone have a specific brand or model that works perfectly for fast charging this device?

yo, i feel u on this. the 125W tech is crazy fast but kinda annoying to find spares for... tbh Motorola is super picky with their TurboPower protocols. i mean most 100W PD chargers will charge the phone fine but you probably wont see that specific animation unless the brick supports high-amp PPS (Programmable Power Supply). basically if it doesnt have 5A PPS support itll likely cap out at 65W or maybe 80W max. For your situation i would suggest looking at the Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W as a solid travel buddy. it is super reliable but might still be slightly slower than the official brick. for cables you highkey need an E-marker chip to handle the current or itll default to 60W. I recommend the UGREEN 100W USB C to USB C Cable 6ft or if u want extra headroom get the Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable 140W 6ft. just be careful with random brands on amazon cuz they can be sketchy with heat management!! hope that helps gl

Late to the party but basically, if you want that specific TurboPower animation without paying the Motorola+tax&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola tax, you gotta look at the technical specs realy closely. In my experience, most standard PD chargers wont hit the full 125W cuz Moto uses a proprietary handshake, but you can get close safely. I prioritize safety-first so GaN is a must to keep temps down during those fast cycles.

  • Ugreen Nexode 100W USB C Wall Charger
  • Usually around $45 and super reliable for travel.
  • Baseus 140W GaN5 Pro Fast Charger
  • This one is around $55 and handles high-wattage profiles better than most budget bricks.
  • Baseus 240W USB C to USB C Cable 6.6ft
  • Honestly a steal at $12 and has the E-marker chip needed for high-wattage safety. Seriously, dont cheap out on the cable tho. If it doesnt have a legit E-marker, it wont even try to hit those high speeds. Plus, your phone stays safer with a cable rated for way more than it needs. gl!

> I'm confused if they'll trigger the TurboPower animation. Does anyone have a specific brand or model that works perfectly for fast charging this device? Honestly, I've been messing with these high-wattage standards for years and the charging fragmentation is just exhausting. It drives me crazy that you can buy a premium phone like the Motorola+Edge+50+Ultra&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and then have to go on a total scavenger hunt just to find a second brick that actually works. It's so incredibly annoying that we're still dealing with these proprietary handshakes... feels like we're moving backwards sometimes, ngl. I've wasted so much time and money on gear that says it's compatible but then barely trickles juice because the PPS profile is off by a fraction. It is just such a headache when things that should be universal aren't. Quick tip: Dig into the fine print for 11V/5A or 20V/6.25A support in the PPS specs before buying. I've messed with the Baseus GaN5 Pro 140W and the Satechi 145W GaN Travel Charger but even with those, Moto's software can be so picky it might still ignore the full 125W speed. Just make sure your cable has a 5A E-Marker like the Cable Matters 240W USB C Cable 6.6ft or you're bottlenecked from the start.

This^ Also wanted to add that Moto tech is honestly sooo frustrating. R u looking for a multi-port GaN for all ur gear, or just a single travel brick for the phone??
