I just picked up the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and man this thing charges fast but the cable it came with is kinda short for my bedside setup. I need something extra for my office too and I'm looking at a few different options on Amazon right now because I dont want to spend a fortune but I also dont want to fry my new phone or wait 3 hours for it to top up.

My budget is around 40 or 50 bucks max. I'm looking at:

  • The official Moto 125W charger which is like $50 plus shipping
  • The Anker 737 120W brick because I heard Anker is super reliable and I have a Macbook too
  • A Ugreen 100W GaN charger thats a bit cheaper

Im worried though because Motorola uses that proprietary TurboPower stuff and I'm not sure if the Anker or Ugreen will actually hit those crazy high speeds or if itll just default to like 15W or 20W which would be annoying. Also do I need a special 5A or 6A cable specifically for the Edge 60 Pro? I need to get this sorted by Friday before I head out on a road trip. Is it worth paying the premium for the official one just to be safe or will the Anker one actually work at full speed?

Hopping back in here because I spent way too much time testing this stuff last month!! I was totally obsessed with getting the fastest speeds without spending $60 on a single brick lol. Honestly, if you want that literal 125W status bar icon, you kinda have to go official, but for the office, I found something that works basically just as well for way less. I actually picked up the Baseus 140W GaN5 Pro Fast Charger and it is a total beast! It supports PD 3.1 and PPS, which is the secret sauce for these high-power phones. I love it because it doesnt just charge the Moto fast, it handles my laptop at the same time without breaking a sweat. To solve the short cable drama, I grabbed a Baseus 240W USB C to USB C Cable 10ft and the length is just... chefs kiss. No more hanging off the edge of the bed or desk! Safety-wise, I was super nervous about cheap stuff frying my port too. Thats why I went with Baseus over those random no-name brands. Its been super reliable for me and doesnt get hot at all even when its pushing serious power. If youre heading out on a road trip, you might also look at the Baseus 160W QC 5.0 Car Charger... I use it in my truck and it keeps the Edge 60 Pro topped up even while running GPS and music. Seriously, dont settle for 15W, life is way too short for slow charging!!

Honestly, I have had issues with third-party bricks for this phone. Unfortunately, the Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W is not as good as expected here since it lacks Motorolas proprietary protocol.

  • Ugreen Nexode 100W GaN Charger: Decent, but disappointing for Motos peak speeds. You definitely need the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw= Motorola+6.5A+USB-C+to+USB-C+Cable&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola 6.5A USB-C to USB-C Cable too.

Ugh, I'm literally dealing with this exact same thing right now! Honestly, that short cable that comes in the box is such a joke if your outlet isnt like two inches from your pillow. I was so worried about the proprietary charging stuff too because my old phone was super picky about that kind of thing. I ended up taking a gamble on a longer setup for my office last week because I was tired of reaching under the desk every time. Ngl, I was totally stressing that it wouldnt hit those fast speeds and I'd just be staring at a slow charging icon all day... but it actually worked out way better than I thought. I'm honestly super happy with how it turned out because I didnt have to shell out for the official Moto one and it still feels really snappy. It's such a relief when things just work without spending a fortune, you know?
