Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Motorola Razr (2025) in that gorgeous Sunset Fuchsia. I am absolutely loving the sleek look of this thing, especially that massive cover display, but I’m also low-key terrified of getting that first scratch. Since it’s a foldable, I know the screen situation is a bit more delicate than your average slab phone, and I want to make sure I'm protected from day one.
I’ve been doing some digging online, but since the 2025 model is still pretty fresh, I’m seeing a lot of conflicting advice. Some people say to just stick with the factory-installed protector on the inner screen and never touch it, while others swear by third-party TPU films to prevent the dreaded 'cracking' or lifting at the hinge over time. I’m especially curious about the external screen—since it’s so much larger now, it feels like a magnet for keys or coins in my pocket. I was looking at some tempered glass options for the outside, but I’m worried they might be too thick and interfere with the hinge mechanism or prevent the phone from closing completely flush.
Ideally, I’m looking for something that offers a smooth, glass-like feel but is flexible enough for the main folding display. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with cheap protectors that started peeling at the edges after just a few weeks of folding and unfolding. I’m willing to spend around $30 or $40 if it means getting a high-quality kit that actually includes an alignment tool—my hands are way too shaky for a freehand install!
Has anyone here already picked up a protector for their Razr (2025)? Are there specific brands like Spigen, Whitestone Dome, or maybe even the official Motorola ones that you’d recommend for this specific year's model? In my experience, glass beats TPU or generic films! ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass Elite is thinner, has amazing clarity, and a foolproof alignment tool. Seriously, dont touch ur inner film!! GL!

yo, i feel u on this. honestly, that sunset fuchsia is gorgeous but foldable screens are lowkey a nightmare to keep mint. i mean, i’ve been through this with my last two foldables and unfortunately, it was a total disaster. i had issues with my old one where i tried to swap the factory film for a "better" third-party one and basically ruined the tension of the hinge. it was so disappointing... not as good as expected at all.
Here's what I recommend: DO NOT touch that inner screen protector. Like, seriously. Motorola uses a specific adhesive for that factory layer and if u peel it, ur looking at a voided warranty or a dead panel. It’s just not worth the risk tbh. For that massive cover screen tho, u definitely need something solid cuz it really is a magnet for keys. Warning: Dont EVER peel the inner film!! Itll ruin ur screen.
In my experience:
- Use thin PET for cover
Ringke kits are reallyyy solid and keep the hinge flush.

Ok so I've been doing a ton of digging into the different brands for the 2025 model because it feels like the market is basically split between the really high-end premium kits that cost a fortune and the random no-name stuff on Amazon that might not even fit right honestly and it's super confusing trying to find a middle ground... I'm trying to figure out the best bang for your buck since $40 is a lot for a piece of plastic or glass but then again replacing a screen is way worse if something happens. Before you commit to a specific brand though I have a couple questions to help narrow it down: * Are you going to be using a case with your Razr or are you planning on going naked? Some of those edge-to-edge protectors for the cover display basically pop right off the second you snap a case on because the tolerances are so tight.
* Do you care more about that smooth glass feeling on the outside or are you more worried about the protector being thin enough so it doesn't affect the hinge gap at all when you fold it shut? I've noticed some brands are focusing more on the 'auto-alignment' tools this year which is great for shaky hands like yours (and mine tbh) but the market is just so flooded right now...
