I finally bit the bullet and got the Razr Plus 2024 in that Hot Pink color because it looked so cool but honestly I am terrified of dropping it. Im in Chicago and with the ice coming soon I just know I'm gonna slip and this $1000 glass sandwich is gonna shatter into a million pieces. Ive been obsessively checking Amazon and Reddit but I'm getting so many conflicting reports it's making me crazy.
I looked at the Spigen Air Skin because I usually trust their stuff for my old Pixels but some people on a different thread were saying it slides off the phone because the adhesive strips are too weak? Like what is even the point of a case if it just pops off the second you flip it open? Then I saw the Poetic Spartan which looks like a total tank but it makes the phone look like a literal brick and I kinda hate that since I bought it specifically for the slim profile and the screen real estate.
So I was thinking maybe I should just pay the premium for the official Motorola ones but they are like 50 bucks and they look like they barely cover the edges? My logic was that a flip phone needs hinge protection above everything else but then I read that some hinge covers can actually trap dust and sand and scratch the metal underneath which is literally the opposite of what I want. Im literally paralyzed by choice right now.
I need something that isnt going to make the cover screen impossible to use because thats the whole reason I got the Plus model. My budget is around 40 or 50 dollars max and I really need to order something by Tuesday because I have a work trip coming up and I dont want to carry this thing around 'naked' in my bag. I guess my main priorities are:
Does anyone actually have a case that stays on securely without ruining the hinge or the look? I feel like I'm overthinking this but I'm just so worried about that folding screen...
Hey! I totally get the anxiety, especially with that gorgeous pink color! I have been testing a few of these because the specs on the 2024 model are just insane. > Does anyone actually have a case that stays on securely without ruining the hinge or the look? First off, the Motorola+Razr+Plus+2024&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Air Skin Designed for Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is actually great if you prep the surface properly. Most people forget to wipe the glass with alcohol first, so the adhesive fails. It is super thin, like .8mm, so it preserves that slim profile perfectly! Love how it barely adds any weight. But if you are worried about the hinge, you gotta look at the Motorola+Razr+Plus+2024&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">VRS Design Terra Guard Modern for Motorola Razr Plus 2024. It has this amazing spring-loaded hinge cover that does not use those crappy magnets that can mess with the internal sensors. It is a bit thicker than the Spigen but the drop protection rating is fantastic for a flip phone! Honestly though, for the best balance, the Motorola+Razr+Plus+2024&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Caseology Nano Pop for Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is my favorite. It uses a mix of TPU and PC that feels so premium in the hand. It stays on way better than the generic ones because the tolerances are tighter. It doesnt block the external screen at all, which is key for the 2024 Plus model since that screen is huge. Definitely go with the Caseology if you want it to stay put without the brick feel. The grip is incredible and it fits the budget perfectly!
Ngl that pink is everything! I have been a Razr fan for years and safety is always my priority. The Motorola+Razr+Plus+2024&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Guardian Case for Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is a lifesaver since it is clear but the bumpers are legit. Also, the Motorola+Razr+Plus+2024&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ZAGG Bridgetown Case for Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is fantastic because it is slim but uses D3O for crazy drop protection!
Are you primarily worried about drop impact or bag scratches? If you dont want to overspend:
Stumbled upon this discussion and figured I would chime in. I ended up getting a simple matte shell for around twenty bucks and honestly its been perfect. After reading those adhesive horror stories I was worried, but the one I got stays put just fine. No hinge scratches either. Savings wise, im pretty happy with the result and it doesnt hide the cover screen at all.
