Just got my hands on the Edge 60 Pro and man this thing is slick but the charging situation is tripping me up. I usually know my way around PD and PPS specs but Motorolas TurboPower stuff is always a bit finicky with third party bricks.
My logic was that my 100W Anker would handle it no problem but its barely hitting 30W according to my cable readout. I need something that actually hits those top speeds because Im traveling for a big conference next week and only have like 15 minute windows to top off. Should I just hunt down the official 125W brick or is there a GaN charger that actually speaks Motos language?
Just catching up on this thread and wow, I went through this exact same headache last month! Paying $80 for a brick felt like a total ripoff lol. My journey led me to test a bunch of budget gear from Amazon because I’m obsessed with finding value. Some of these GaN chargers are amazing and safe if you check the certifications. I love it when you find a cheap solution that actually works as well as the pricey stuff!!
Adding my two cents here, you gotta be careful with PPS ranges. Most bricks wont hit the high current Moto needs. I would suggest looking at the Ugreen Nexode 100W GaN Wall Charger if youre trying to save some cash. It might not hit the full 125W, but its a solid budget alternative. Just make sure to use a 5A cable tho or you'll be limited anyway...
^ This. Also, I’d actually go a different route for travel tbh. I’ve been super satisfied with the Baseus 140W GaN5 Pro Wall Charger and it basically replaced my official Moto brick. No complaints here.
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
> its barely hitting 30W according to my cable readout Moto uses a proprietary PPS profile for 125W speeds. Ngl, just grab the official Motorola+TurboPower+125W+Wall+Charger&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola TurboPower 125W Wall Charger because most bricks don't have the specific handshake needed.
