Which fast chargers work best with Motorola Edge 50 Pro?

I’m loving my new Edge 50 Pro, but I need a second charger for the office. Since it supports 125W TurboPower, I'm confused if third-party bricks like Anker or Ugreen hit those top speeds. Has anyone tried a specific PPS-compatible charger that works reliably without overheating? Which brands are actually giving you the fastest charge?

Oh man, I get it. I would suggest Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W. Honestly, it might not hit 125W basically cuz Motorolas tech is proprietary, even with PPS. Just be careful tho! Cheers

For your situation, I tried saving money with the Baseus 100W GaN5 Pro USB C Wall Charger for about $40. Honestly, it was a letdown. It barely hit 50W and got scary hot... definitely not worth risking a new phone over!! Safety-wise, I’d grab the Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W Wall Charger for like $25. It’s cheap, reliable, and wont cook ur battery at the office. Stick to lower wattage if ur not using official gear, right?

Been thinking about your setup for a bit... Honestly, charging tech is such a rabbit hole once you start digging into the proprietary handshakes Motorola uses. To really figure out whats gonna work for your office desk without things getting too hot, I have a couple of quick questions for you.

  • Do you actually need that full 125W blast while youre working, or are you just looking for a steady top-up over an hour or two?
  • Are you planning to use a dedicated power meter to monitor the actual wattage, or do you just want something that shows the TurboPower icon and stays cool? Getting the DIY data from a little meter can save you a ton of trial and error because sometimes the phone reports one thing but the brick is doing something else entirely. Just depends on what youre really after speed-wise.

Here's what I recommend: seriously, be careful with third-party bricks because Moto is sooo picky about their 125W speeds. Basically, most chargers use standard Power Delivery (PD) or PPS, but Motorola's top-tier charging is locked down to their specific tech. Even if a brick says it's 100W+, ur probably gonna see it drop way down to like 45W or 50W in reality. It's pretty frustrating tbh!! Anyway, here is the breakdown of what I've found:
- **Official Bricks**: These are literally the only way to get that insane 125W speed. They use a specific handshake that third parties just dont have.
- **High-end PPS Chargers**: Brands like Ugreen or Belkin work great for safety, but expect much slower "TurboPower" speeds. They're good for the office if ur not in a rush tho! I would highkey just grab a second official one from their site to avoid the overheating issues and slow speeds... it's just easier that way! peace

So basically the consensus is that hitting that full 125W is tough without official gear. In my experience, even with a high-end PPS brick, ur probably gonna cap out much lower. Honestly, if ur budget-conscious, the Ugreen Nexode 100W USB C Wall Charger is a solid office backup. It wont hit 125W, but its reliable and way cheaper than buying a second Moto brick... gl!

Honestly, I am still kind of learning about how these charging protocols work, but I was wondering, are u using the stock cable or a random one from Amazon? I found that being a bit of a DIY tester helps because the cable is actually just as important as the brick for TurboPower to even work. If u want to see what is actually happening without spending a ton of money on the pro official gear, u could try getting a cable with a built-in power meter. It is basically a cheap way to self-service your own testing at the office so you know exactly what speed ur getting. I have been looking at these:

  • INIU 100W USB C to USB C Cable with LED Display
  • Satechi 108W USB-C 3-Port GaN Wall Charger I think the Satechi might handle the PPS handshake a bit better than the super cheap brands? It probably wont hit 125W since that is locked down, but at least with the display cable u can see if youre actually getting decent speeds or just a trickle. It is way better than just guessing if it is fast or not, you know?
