Which fast chargers work best with the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra?

I am so annoyed right now because my Edge 50 Ultra is barely charging and Ive only had it for like three months. I specifically bought it because of the crazy 125W charging speeds but the brick that came in the box started making this weird high pitched whining sound yesterday and now it wont even trigger the TurboPower message half the time. I am actually panicking a bit because Im supposed to be traveling to Scotland for a wedding next Friday and I cannot be stuck with a phone that takes four hours to charge while Im out taking photos and using GPS all day. I tried using my old Samsung 45W charger and even my laptop brick but they are so slow its pathetic. I looked online but some of these third party ones say they support PD but then people in the reviews say they dont actually hit the full speed on Moto phones. Honestly fed up with this situation. I just want something reliable that wont blow up or kill my battery life. My budget is probably around 50 pounds max because I already spent so much on the phone itself. Are there any specific brands or models of wall plugs that actually work with the proprietary 125W tech besides the official ones? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy another official one even though this one failed so fast...

To hit those 125W speeds, you need a brick that handles high amperage over 6A. I am very satisfied with the Motorola+TurboPower+125W+Wall+Charger&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Motorola TurboPower 125W Wall Charger despite your issue. If you want a backup, the Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W works well, tho it wont hit the full 125W.

Actually been thinking about this proprietary mess while looking at my own cable drawer. It is honestly wild how Motorola handles their high-amperage handshakes compared to something like a Pixel or a Samsung.

  • Moto uses a very specific PPS implementation that requires a high-amp E-marker cable to hit those top speeds.
  • Samsung and Apple stick to much lower current thresholds which makes them more compatible with generic gear but obviously way slower for charging. This whole situation honestly reminds me of when my buddy went to a tech conference in Berlin. He had this specialized high-speed setup and the local voltage or maybe just a bad ground in the hotel fried his primary brick on night one. He was freaking out because he had all his session notes on a tablet that wouldnt talk to any of the standard travel adapters we had. We spent literally four hours wandering around Alexanderplatz trying to find a specific electronic component shop that some guy on a forum mentioned. When we finally found it, the shop was closed for a local holiday we didnt know about. He ended up having to transcribe everything by hand from a tiny backup screen while sitting in a cafe. It was a total disaster and he basically missed half the keynote events because he was tethered to a wall. Anyway, proprietary tech is great until it isnt, but yeah...
