Hey everyone! I just finally bit the bullet and picked up the OnePlus Open, and man, the hardware is absolutely incredible. However, since this is my first foldable, I’m feeling a bit paranoid about keeping those screens in mint condition.

I’ve noticed the factory-installed protector on the inner display is a total fingerprint magnet and feels a bit 'rubbery' when scrolling. I know OnePlus generally advises against peeling off the internal one, but has anyone successfully swapped it for a high-quality third-party option like a matte film or a more premium TPU? I'm also looking for a solid tempered glass recommendation for the outer cover screen that won't interfere with the edges of a standard case. My main concern is finding something that doesn't start lifting at the crease after a few weeks of heavy folding.

I really want to preserve the clarity of that gorgeous display without risking damage to the ultra-thin glass. For those of you who have had the Open for a while now, which screen protectors have actually held up for you? Are there any specific brands you’d swear by or ones I should definitely avoid?

Oh man, I totally get the paranoia. I've been using the OnePlus+Open+512GB&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Open 512GB since launch and that factory inner film is highkey a grease magnet. For your situation, I would suggest looking at the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Orzero TPU Film for OnePlus Open for the internal display. Honestly, I swapped mine out about two months ago because I hated that rubbery friction, and the Orzero feels way more like actual glass while still being flexible enough for the hinge... just be super careful during the install cuz the UTG is fragile!!

For the outer cover screen, dont even bother with cheap films. I'm currently using the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Glas.tR Slim Tempered Glass for OnePlus Open and it's basically perfect. It sits slightly away from the edges so it doesnt lift when you snap on a case like the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Spartan Series for OnePlus Open. I've noticed zero lifting at the crease on the inner one too, which is usually the big fail point. Technical side note: make sure you use a microfiber cloth and some 70% ISO to clean the outer glass first to get a perfect bond.

Basically, as long as you dont use those cheap generic PET films that are too stiff, the crease should hold up fine. I'm super happy with this setup... no complaints at all and the clarity is literally stunning compared to the stock plastic. Good luck with the swap, hope it works out for u!! 👍

Just catching up on this thread! Before I give advice, can you clarify if ur prioritizing maximum display clarity or looking for a matte anti-glare finish? In my experience, the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ibywind Screen Protector for OnePlus Open is a solid budget-friendly pick for the outer glass that actually stays put. It's highkey better value than the overpriced brands. Tbh, swapping the inner film is risky, so lmk ur preferences first! 👍

Curious about one thing: which case are you rocking? Honestly, outer glass like OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">dbrand Tempered Glass for OnePlus Open wont fit if the case lip is too tight. TL;DR: Case clearance is everything.
