I just finally pulled the trigger on the OnePlus Open, and man, this screen is gorgeous! Since it's such a premium foldable, I really want to make sure I’m protecting it properly without adding too much bulk. I’m already looking at the official protective set, but I’m curious if there are better third-party cases or specific screen protectors that don't mess with the hinge. Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a stylus that works well with the inner display, or a portable stand that can actually handle the weight when it's unfolded? I’d love to hear what you guys are actually using daily. What are the absolute essential accessories I should pick up first?

yo, congrats on the upgrade! honestly, the OnePlus+Open+is+a+beast+but&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Open is a beast but protecting it is highkey stressful lol. In my experience, even though I'm still getting the hang of some foldable quirks, you definitely want to skip the official case... it’s okay, but kinda flimsy. I've been using the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Nillkin CamShield Pro for OnePlus Open because it actually has a sliding cover for those massive camera lenses, which is a lifesaver since they stick out so much.

Technically, the hinge is the scariest part, right?? If you want real protection without the bulk of a brick, check out the OnePlus+Open+Case&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Poetic Spartan Series OnePlus Open Case. It has a dedicated hinge flap that doesn't feel clunky. For the stylus, OnePlus+doesn&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus doesn't really advertise it, but the OPPO+Pen+for+Find+N3&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OPPO Pen for Find N3 is basically the only one that supports full pressure sensitivity on the inner screen since they're basically the same hardware. It's pricey but worth it if you're gonna draw.

Also, for a stand that wont tip over when you're watching movies unfolded, the Lululook Foldable Magnetic Stand for Tablets is actually sturdy enough to handle the weight distribution. So yeah, start with a good hinge case and that Oppo+pen+if+you+can+find&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Oppo pen if you can find it in stock! gl with the new setup!! 👍

Quick question - are you looking for a case that actually covers the hinge or do you prefer something more slim? Honestly, safety is the biggest concern for me cuz those repairs are pricey!!

I mean, if you want REAL protection, the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Tough Armor Pro Case for OnePlus Open is a tank compared to the OnePlus+Open+Protective+Set&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Official OnePlus Open Protective Set. The Spigen has that hinge cover which feels way safer, tho it adds bulk. But yeah, let me know what your vibe is so I can help more! gl

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, ur gonna love the phone but finding cheap protection that actually works is lowkey a struggle. I spent way too much on the official stuff and it was such a letdown, basically just plastic that felt flimsy.

If ur on a budget like me, I'd say skip the expensive brands and check out the OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Nillkin Frosted Shield Prop Case for OnePlus Open instead. It’s got a cool camera cover that doubles as a kickstand and it feels way more solid than the stock one. For the stylus, you dont actually need the official Oppo+pen&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Oppo pen! I tried a cheap Universal Capacitive Stylus Pen from Amazon and it works fine for basic scrolling, tho it's not as fancy as the Samsung ones. Also, for a desk setup, I found that the Ugreen Desktop Phone Stand Holder is super sturdy and handles the weight when it's fully unfolded without tipping over... unlike the last one I had lol. Just keep in mind that third-party screen protectors can sometimes mess with the hinge, so stick to the factory one if you can! gl!

yo, congrats on the new phone! honestly, foldables are a whole different beast when it comes to protection. Before you buy anything, you gotta realize that the inner screen is super sensitive... basically like a soft tablet. Here is what I recommend from my own experience:

1. Stick with the official case for now. I know it's a bit bulky, but third-party ones often mess with the hinge or literally scratch the frame if they don't fit 100% perfectly.
2. For a stylus, you gotta be CAREFUL. Make sure it specifically says it's for foldables or has a soft tip. Anything too hard could permanently dent that inner display... i've seen it happen and it's not pretty lol.
3. Get a heavy-duty metal stand. Most cheap plastic ones will tip over because the OnePlus Open is kinda heavy when it's fully unfolded.

Tbh, I wouldn't mess with the pre-installed screen protector either... just leave it alone unless you want to void the warranty. gl! 👍
