I'm tired of my original OnePlus cables fraying at the ends after just a few months. I need a rugged, braided replacement that actually supports 65W or 80W SuperVOOC speeds. Most third-party USB-C cables I've tried only charge at standard speeds. Does anyone know a reliable brand that handles the high wattage without overheating? Which durable cable are you currently using for fast charging?

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, Baseus 6.5A 66W USB-C to USB-C Braided Cable is basically the gold standard if you wanna save cash without losing that SuperVOOC speed. I've tried many over the years and most "rugged" cables are just 60W PD, which won't trigger the warp charging animation on OnePlus. You gotta look for that specific 6.5A rating or it just won't happen. Ngl, you can usually find these on sale for like $8-12, which is way better than paying $25+ for the official one that just frays anyway!!

Seconding those brands! SuperVOOC tech is basically proprietary, so cables MUST have specific hardware.

1. I think Essager is another solid choice iirc.
2. But yeah, just stick to verified 6.5A reviews!

Sooo I went through this exact same headache last year... literally went through three different cables in six months because I kept stressing about heat and safety. Tbh, the concern with SuperVOOC isn't just the speed, it's the risk of cheap connectors overheating and frying your port. I ended up trying the Essager 7A 100W USB-C to USB-C Braided Fast Charging Cable after those other suggestions, and it's been a tank. It actually handles the high amperage without getting sketchy or warm, plus the braiding is way thicker than the flimsy stock ones. Def worth looking into if you want something that feels safe and rugged!!

Ok so, I feel u on the fraying thing... it's so annoying!! For your situation, I've tried a few and honestly, be careful with random brands cuz SuperVOOC is picky. I would suggest checking out Baseus or Ugreen cables that specifically mention 6.5A support. They're way more rugged than the original ones. Basically, just make sure to look for that high amperage rating or you're gonna be stuck with slow charging speeds lol. gl!

Quick question - are you using the original SuperVOOC wall brick or a third-party GaN charger? Honestly, it's so frustrating because even the "rugged" cables often lack the proprietary pinout needed for 6.5A.

Before I give advice, keep in mind:
* Most braided cables only hit 60W PD
* VOOC requires a specific chip

I've had issues with big brands failing after a month, so I wanna make sure your setup is actually compatible first.

I'm gonna be the outlier here and say that simply looking for "braided" isn't always the fix it seems like. Ive seen plenty of these rugged third-party cables fail the proprietary SuperVOOC handshake protocol after just a few months of heavy use because the internal pinout is so sensitive to minor wear. Basically, they look tough on the outside but the internals cant handle the sustained 6A+ current. Before you pull the trigger on another replacement, I have a couple of questions to narrow this down: 1. Are you mostly using this in a stationary spot like a desk/bedside, or is the cable getting tossed in a bag daily for travel?
2. Is the fraying happening right at the connector neck (the stress relief part), or is the actual cable jacket splitting elsewhere? Honestly, as someone who has been through dozens of these, the actual AWG (wire gauge) of the internal power lines is way more important than the braiding. If the copper is too thin, the voltage drop will cause the phone to kick out of high-speed charging to protect the battery. You might be trading physical durability for electrical stability without realizing it!!!

Bump - same question here
