I just got my OnePlus Open and I'm absolutely loving the device, but I'm super nervous about the screen protector situation. I've always struggled with getting a perfect, bubble-free install, especially with the unique dimensions and curved edges of the outer screen. I really want to avoid those annoying air pockets or lifting edges that often happen near the bezel. Has anyone found a specific brand, maybe tempered glass or a high-quality TPU film, that includes a solid alignment tool to ensure a clean fit? I'm also worried about case compatibility. What are the most reliable, bubble-free screen protectors you’d recommend for the Open?
In my experience, heres my picks:
- OnePlus+Open+Tempered+Glass&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">dbrand OnePlus Open Tempered Glass for alignment.
- Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit is definately bubble-free.
Both fit cases perfectly cuz of tight tolerances. gl!
> Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit is definitely bubble-free. Hmm, I've had a different experience with glass. Respectfully, I'd actually suggest a different approach and go with a TPU film like OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Ringke Dual Easy Film for OnePlus Open instead. Glass always seems to lift on those curved edges, but this film literally wraps around them perfectly and its reallyyy slim for case compatibility!! gl!
Jumping in here because Ive been analyzing the accessory market for foldables since the first Gen came out and the OnePlus Open definitely has some tight tolerances when it comes to the bezel gap. Basically the industry trend right now is moving toward these automated alignment trays because that is what kills the bubble issue for good and honestly its the only way to go if youre nervous about a manual install. From a market research perspective here are the top performers right now that havent been mentioned yet:
Stick to brands like Whitestone, you can't go wrong. I went through this last year trying to save cash with one or two generic cheapo packs and it was a DISASTER—bubbles everywhere and they lifted sooo fast. Tbh I basically wasted more money than if I’d just bought the good stuff first. Cheaping out on these curved screens never works... unfortunately.
Honestly been through a lot of these over the years and the alignment tool is usually what makes or breaks the install. Precision is mandatory for the outer display because the tolerances are so tight... I moved away from generic films and tried the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=amFilm+OneTouch+Tempered+Glass+for+ OnePlus+Open&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass for OnePlus Open because the jig is actually reliable. The coverage is decent enough to protect the glass without hitting the lip of the factory case. I have also had some luck with the <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Mohave+Screen+Protector+for+ OnePlus+Open&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Mohave Screen Protector for OnePlus Open which uses a similar auto-alignment box system. It is a bit more expensive but the success rate is definitely higher imo. Quick tips for a clean install:
