I just picked up the OnePlus Open and I’m absolutely loving the hardware, but I'm a bit nervous about keeping those screens pristine. Since it’s a foldable, I know the inner screen is delicate, but I’m particularly looking for a solid tempered glass protector for the outer display that doesn't interfere with the hinge or my case. I've seen a few brands on Amazon, but I’m worried about touch sensitivity issues or the edges peeling up due to the slight curve. Does anyone have hands-on experience with a specific brand that fits perfectly and feels like the original glass? Also, is it worth replacing the pre-installed film on the inner screen, or should I leave that alone? What are you guys using to keep your Open scratch-free?

Honestly, i've had a few issues with those expensive glass protectors peeling at the corners, which is super disappointing given the price. If you wanna save some cash, OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">IBYWIND Screen Protector for OnePlus Open is basically the best budget-friendly kit out there. You get two for around $10-15, and they actually include a protector for the camera bump too!

Whatever you do, PLEASE dont touch the inner screen film. It's structural, and peeling it yourself can literally kill the display. Just stick to the outer glass for now, right?

Sooo just catching up on this thread and honestly, I've gotta jump in because I am OBSESSED with finding the perfect balance between protection and price for my Open! I totally get the anxiety about that outer glass, but seriously, DO NOT touch that inner screen film. It's factory-applied for a reason and peeling it is a recipe for disaster with the warranty, plus it's actually pretty durable for what it is.

For your situation, here's what I recommend for the outer display:

1. OnePlus+Open+Screen+Protector&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Milomdoi 3+3 Pack for OnePlus Open Screen Protector - This is my favorite budget pick because you get three glass protectors plus camera lens covers. The fit is literally perfect with most cases and the touch sensitivity is fantastic!!
2. OnePlus+Open+Screen+Protector+Tempered+Glass&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">AACL OnePlus Open Screen Protector Tempered Glass - This one is amazing because it uses a slightly thinner glass that feels exactly like the original screen and handles the 2.5D curve without those annoying bubbles.

Basically, high-end brands are cool, but these budget kits work just as well if you align them right. Good luck!! 👍

In my experience, you definitely want to be careful with the outer display because of that slight 2.5D curve. I've tried many, but basically, OnePlus+Open+Prism+2.0+Screen+Protector&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">dbrand OnePlus Open Prism 2.0 Screen Protector is the gold standard if you want that original glass feel without the edges peeling up. It's designed to play nice with most cases too. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper on Amazon, OnePlus+Open&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit for OnePlus Open is a solid runner-up; the alignment tool makes it literally impossible to mess up the install.

Whatever you do, DO NOT peel off the inner screen film!! Seriously, it's a structural component of the display assembly. Removing it or layering another protector on top can actually cause the screen to crack or void ur warranty. Just stick to a good glass protector for the outside and you're golden. gl! 👍

Sooo just sharing my experience as a fellow newbie to the foldable world, but I went through this exact same panic last month haha. I was literally terrified of scratching that outer screen because I'm kinda clumsy, so I spent way too much time researching safety options. Since the dbrand and Ibywind kits were already mentioned, I ended up trying out the OnePlus+Open+Screen+Protector&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Whitestone Dome Glass OnePlus Open Screen Protector for the outer display.

I was highkey nervous about the UV installation process, but honestly, it felt like the safest way to get a perfect bond on that 2.5D curve without the edges lifting up later. It fits perfectly with my case and the touch sensitivity is basically like the original glass. It's a bit pricier, but iirc it feels way more solid than the cheap film ones. Quick tip: just make sure to cover the hinge with the provided tape before you start the glue process!

Also, big agree with the others about that inner screen... literally DO NOT peel that factory film off. I read a horror story about someone trying it and it basically bricked the display. It's meant to stay there for the life of the phone! Anyway, I've been using this setup for three weeks and no peeling so far, so it seems like a decent option if you want that extra peace of mind. Good luck with the new phone, it's such a beast! 👍
