I just switched to the OnePlus Open and I am loving the foldable experience so far. My old AirPods Pro are starting to act up, and the connection on OxygenOS isn't as seamless as I would like.

I really want a pair that takes full advantage of the phone. I am looking for:

  • Seamless Fast Pair integration
  • High-quality spatial audio for movies
  • Reliable multi-point connection

I have been looking at the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 since they are the same brand, but I am also curious about the Sony XM5s. Has anyone tested these specifically with the Open?

Which earbuds work best with the OnePlus Open for a smooth experience?

Ngl Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds with Snapdragon Sound have better stability, while Sennheiser+Momentum+True+Wireless+4+with+aptX+Lossless&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 with aptX Lossless offer better durability. Both are safer bets for reliable daily use.

Tbh if you want reliability beyond the first-party options, you should look at the Sony WF-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds. Since the Open supports LDAC, you are getting the best possible bitrates for your audio. I have found that the multi-point is actually more stable on these than most brands when switching between a laptop and the phone, which sounds like what you need. Quick tip though: if you go with the Sonys, disable the Speak-to-Chat feature immediately. It is technically impressive but tends to trigger accidentally and pause your movies. Also, for the best Fast Pair experience outside of the OnePlus+ecosystem&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus ecosystem, the Google Pixel Buds Pro with Active Noise Cancellation are extremely consistent. They handle the Android system handshake better than almost anything else on the market, making them a very safe bet for a foldable.

Honestly, if you want the most stable experience without any weird software hiccups, you really should stick with the OnePlus+Buds+Pro+2+with+Spatial+Audio&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">OnePlus Buds Pro 2 with Spatial Audio. Since they are made for the same ecosystem, the Fast Pair is instant and you wont deal with the connectivity drops that sometimes happen with third-party apps. I have used them with my Open for months and the integration is just safer for long-term use. You get the LHDC 5.0 codec support natively, which is crucial for high-res audio on this specific hardware. While the Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Earbuds are great, you have to rely on the Sony Headphones Connect app for everything, and sometimes Android battery optimization kills those background processes, messing up your multi-point connection. With the Buds Pro 2, everything is baked right into the OxygenOS Bluetooth settings. It is just more reliable if you dont want to spend time troubleshooting.

Exactly what I was thinking
