Can someone please tell me exactly which wireless charger I need to buy to get the fastest speeds on the new OnePlus 12 because I am honestly so overwhelmed by all the options? I'm finally upgrading from my old iPhone 11—which has been a nightmare lately because the battery dies by lunch and the camera is just... blurry—and I really want to get this right. I've been trying to look this up online but I'm getting so confused with all the technical terms like "Qi2" and "AIRVOOC" and "proprietary" (sorry if that’s a basic word, I just don't get how it applies to a plug).

I found this one thing called the OnePlus AIRVOOC 50W Wireless Charger, but then I read somewhere that you need a specific wall brick to even make that work? Like, if I use my old Apple brick with it, will it just be slow? Or worse, will it break the phone? I’m really anxious about ruining the battery on such an expensive device right out of the gate.

Here is what I think I need (correct me if I'm wrong):

  • Something that actually hits the 50W speed they advertise
  • A stand that lets me see the screen while it charges on my desk
  • It needs to not get super hot because that scares me lol

I also saw some people talking about "Oppo" chargers being the same thing but then someone else said they aren't compatible in the US? It's all very confusing. I just want the best battery experience possible since that was my biggest headache with the iPhone. The OnePlus 12 is so much bigger and the camera looks amazing, so I don't want to be tethered to a wall all day. Oh, and I almost forgot—does the case matter? I bought a thicker "rugged" one for protection but now I'm worried the wireless signal won't go through it.

Is there a specific "all-in-one" bundle I should look for, or do I have to buy the stand and the wall plug separately to get those fast speeds?...

ngl I was super confused when I first switched from Apple too but its actually pretty simple once you get the "proprietary" part. Basically OnePlus uses their own special tech called AIRVOOC to get those crazy speeds. If you want that 50W speed, you HAVE to get the OnePlus AIRVOOC 50W Wireless Charger. Anything else like a standard Qi charger from Amazon is gonna be way slower, like maybe 15W max if youre lucky. About the wall brick... yeah, you cant use your old Apple ones. To get the full 50W, the stand needs to be plugged into a high-wattage SuperVOOC brick, usually the 80W or 100W one that comes in the box with your phone. If you use a weak brick, the stand just wont have enough juice to fast charge. The good news is the official stand has a built-in fan to keep things cool because 50W wireless lowkey generates a lot of heat. It sounds like a tiny jet engine sometimes but it keeps your battery from frying. For the case, honestly, if its too thick it might struggle. Most rugged cases are okay if theyre under 2-3mm but some of those heavy-duty ones with metal plates will totally kill the connection. Idk if your specific case is that thick but maybe test it out first? Stick with the official OnePlus gear over Oppo just to be safe with US outlets and stuff. Its a huge upgrade over the iPhone 11 tho, youll love it...

So funny you ask this — last summer I tried saving cash with a generic Anker 313 Wireless Charger and it was PAINFUL. It took hours lol. @Reply #1 - good point! I finally got the official OnePlus AIRVOOC 50W Wireless Charger and its night and day compared to the Oppo AirVOOC 50W Wireless Charger which works the SAME but is way harder to find. TBH just get the official stand or youll be SAD...
