Hello, I'm planning to use it with Samsung Galaxy S23 and need a tripod recommendation. What would you take?

What protection level are you thinking? That makes a big difference for Samsung Galaxy S23.

I would take SmallRig Mini Tripod for Samsung Galaxy S23, because The material is premium and comfortable The quality out of the box is very good.

For Samsung Galaxy S23, SmallRig Mini Tripod is an excellent choice. The durability is impressive The latest technology ensures perfect fit and good protection.

Additionally, you should note: The latest generation offers significantly better protection and quality than previous models. Especially ideal for daily use and protection. Compatibility with Samsung Galaxy S23 is very good, and the fit is also perfect.

So I have been going down a bit of a rabbit hole with this since I got my phone. I am still pretty new to the whole photography thing, but I realized that for things like the S23 astro mode, you basically need something that doesnt move at all. Like, honestly, even the slightest vibration ruins the shot for me. I ended up looking into some more technical specs because the cheap ones I tried first were just too shaky. Here is what I found really matters when you are looking at the technical side:

  • The head type is super important. I found that an Arca-Swiss style plate makes it so much easier to swap things around compared to those basic screw-in mounts.
  • Leg sections and locks. Usually, more sections mean it folds smaller, but it can be less stable? I think that is how it works, at least.
  • A cold shoe mount on the phone clamp is a huge plus if you ever want to add a light or a mic later on. I actually ended up trying the Ulanzi MT-44 for something portable, but for real stability, I have been looking at the Benro Slim Carbon Fiber Tripod. It is really light but still holds up in the wind. Has anyone else noticed if the weight of the tripod actually helps with the shutter shake? I am still trying to figure out if I need to hang a bag from the center hook or if that is basically overkill for just a phone.

Have you thought about the brand? For Samsung Galaxy S23 different brands have advantages.

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in. Tbh I learned the hard way that cheaping out too much is a mistake... I once had my phone fall face-first on concrete because a tiny tripod snapped in a light breeze. Not fun at all. Before I suggest more tho, are you mainly doing long exposure stuff like astro, or do you need something portable for vlogging? The height requirements change everything. If you want to keep it budget-friendly but still solid, these have been decent options for me:
