Hey everyone! I just picked up the new Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, but since it didn't come with a wall plug in the box, I’m stuck using an old 15W charger from years ago. It takes way too long to get a full charge! I know this model supports 25W fast charging, but I’m a bit confused because I see 45W bricks advertised for the S24 series too. Does the FE actually benefit from the higher wattage, or is 25W the hard limit? I’m also worried about finding one with the right PPS support so it doesn't get too hot. Which specific charger should I buy to get the absolute maximum charging speeds?
For your situation, i gotta be honest... unfortunately the S24 FE is actually hard capped at 25W. I’ve been using Samsung phones for years and i was really hoping they'd finally upgrade the FE speeds, but nah. I tried a 45W brick I had laying around and it didnt charge any faster than the standard one, which was not as good as expected lol. Buying a 45W brick is basically just a waste of money for this phone cuz it wont benefit at all. I also had issues with a generic brick getting super hot before, so definitely get something with PPS. I'd suggest the Samsung 25W USB-C Wall Charger (EP-TA800) since it's the official one and you know it'll work right. If you want something smaller, I guess the Anker 312 Charger (Ace, 25W) is okay too. Honestly just dont bother with the 45W stuff for this model... it's a letdown but it is what it is. peace
+1 to what was said earlier. Totally agree! Buying a 45W brick is basically a waste of cash since the FE controller wont pull that extra juice. You just need a charger with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) to hit that 25W sweet spot without heat spikes. Honestly, the Samsung 25W USB-C Wall Charger (EP-T2510N) is the best budget-friendly pick. It hits those technical specs perfectly... gl!
Yeah, totally agree with everyone saying dont waste your money on those 45W bricks. The 25W cap is super annoying but it is what it is. As someone who likes to geek out on the hardware side and test things myself, i really recommend looking at GaN chargers specifically. They are way more efficient and stay way cooler than the old silicon ones. Also, people always forget about the cable! You can have the best brick in the world but a crappy cable will bottleneck you to 10W or 15W without you even knowing it. Tbh, if you really want to be sure you are getting the max speed, you can do what I do and grab a cheap USB power meter to test your setup. Here are a few solid alternatives that havent been mentioned yet:
Works great for me
Seconding the recommendation above! That 25W cap is real, so dont waste cash on 45W. Safety is huge for me, so I highkey recommend the Spigen ArcStation Pro 27W USB-C Wall Charger or the Belkin BoostCharge 25W USB-C Wall Charger with PPS. I've used these for years—they stay super cool and have perfect PPS support to keep ur battery healthy long-term. gl!!
