so I just picked up the S26 plus and im trying to find a brick that wont die in a month. i looked at the official samsung 45w ones but the reviews say they get super hot and the cords are flimsy. my logic was to just grab an anker nano because ive had good luck with them before but then i saw some forum post about pps standards and how the s26 is picky about what it actually accepts for super fast charging 2.0 speeds.

im kinda stuck because i dont want to waste $50 on something that only charges at standard speeds. i need this sorted before my chicago trip next week. has anyone actually tested the newest anker or ugreen stuff with the s26+ yet...

Anker 313 Charger 45W PPS hits the 5A PPS requirement for Super Fast Charging 2.0 perfectly. It runs much cooler than the stock brick and is way more reliable tbh.

In my experience testing these over the years, the PPS requirement is where most people get tripped up. To hit the top speeds on your S26 Plus, you need a charger that specifically supports the 5A PPS profile. I've tried many setups and found the UGREEN Nexode Pro 65W GaN Charger to be incredibly reliable. It uses GaN technology so it stays much cooler than the official Samsung bricks even when it is pushing max power. The real secret tho is the cable. People often overlook this and get frustrated when they only see standard speeds. You need a cable rated for 5A current, not the standard 3A ones that come with most phones. I usually pair that brick with the UGREEN 100W USB C to USB C Cable 5A because the build quality is tank-like compared to the flimsy stock ones. This setup should definitely last you through your Chicago trip and well beyond.

Regarding what #2 said about "In my experience testing these over the years,..." - it has honestly been a massive headache lately. I spent a weekend bench-testing several new units for my gear bag and unfortunately, most of them just dont live up to the hype. I grabbed a Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W GaN hoping for a portable win for my own trips, but it thermal throttled constantly during my S26+ charging cycles.

  • Spigen: Great form factor but unfortunately the heat management is poor for sustained 45W output.
  • Baseus 65W GaN5 Pro Wall Charger: Hit the Super Fast Charging 2.0 speeds fine, but the housing feels thin and I am worried about it cracking in a cramped travel bag. I have been so disappointed with the current GaN lineup. Most brands are cutting corners on the actual PPS controller logic to save a few bucks. Just make sure whatever you grab, you use a genuine 5A rated cable or the brick wont even matter... ask me how I know lol. Stay safe in Chicago.
