I’m planning to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 as soon as it drops, and I’ve decided this is the year I finally try to use my phone as my primary 'mobile office' for on-the-go work. Since the Fold series is pretty much built for multitasking, I really want to have my setup dialed in from day one to maximize that massive inner screen.

I’m specifically looking for accessories that actually improve workflow rather than just adding bulk. For instance, I’m torn on the S Pen situation—is it worth springing for the S Pen Pro for the extra features, or is the standard Fold Edition sufficient for heavy note-taking? I also need a solid recommendation for a slim, portable mechanical keyboard that’s tactile but doesn't take up my whole bag. Lastly, if anyone uses a compact USB-C hub for DeX mode that handles power delivery and HDMI without overheating, I’d love to hear about it.

I really want to make sure I’m not missing out on any niche tools that make the foldable experience smoother. For those of you who use your Fold for serious work, what are your absolute must-have productivity accessories for the upcoming Z Fold 7?

Story time: i went through this last year trying to ditch my laptop. ngl i wasted so much money on bulky gear before finding a setup that actually worked for me... * Anker 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1) - handles 100W power delivery and HDMI without the phone throttling.
* iClever BK08 Folding Bluetooth Keyboard - way more portable than a mechanical one! I'm still kinda unsure about the pen tbh, but that hub was a lifesaver. gl!!

Hey! I've been using the Fold series since the 3, so I totally get the 'mobile office' dream. Honestly, its been a game changer for me. Here's what I recommend based on years of trial and error: 1. S Pen: Unless youre using multiple Samsung devices, stick with the Samsung S Pen Fold Edition. The Samsung S Pen Pro is cool for air gestures, but its literally huge and a pain to carry. The standard one fits in your case, which is a big deal for portability.
2. Keyboard: For that mechanical feel without the weight, the NuPhy Air60 V2 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard is elite. It's reallyyy tactile but still fits in a small bag - way better than those cheap folding keyboards.
3. DeX Hub: I've been using the Anker 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1) for a year now and it works well without overheating. It handles 100W power delivery so ur Fold stays charged while you work. Basically, dont overcomplicate it or you wont end up carrying it. Gl with the Z Fold 7!!

Sooo, I went through this last year and honestly? I spent way too much on official gear and was kinda disappointed. I tried the high-end Samsung S Pen Pro vs the standard Samsung S Pen Fold Edition. While the Pro has cool Bluetooth tricks, it was just too bulky for me to actually carry. The Fold Edition is way more practical for daily notes, imo. For the hub, I actually had issues with heat on the more expensive brands during long DeX sessions. I swapped to the Ugreen Revodok 105 USB C Hub and it’s been solid without any thermal throttling. Also, if ur looking for a tactile keyboard, I found the ProtoArc XK01 Folding Bluetooth Keyboard is a huge step up from the iClever one mentioned earlier. It gives u a full mechanical-style feel but folds up tiny. Mid-range value picks were basically the best choice for my setup. gl!

Regarding what #4 said about "Following" - honestly, I am in the exact same boat and it is driving me crazy. I have been trying to map out my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 setup for weeks but I still have no idea which brands to actually trust. Over the years I have learned that being extra cautious with accessories is a must, especially after I had a cheap cable nearly fry my last device and I definitely dont want a repeat of that with a brand new foldable. I have the exact same problem trying to figure out which pen and hub wont cause issues during a long workday. I have been dealing with this for a month now and I still cant find a definitive answer on whether to go official or third-party. It is just so frustrating because I want to be ready for launch day but I am totally stuck. I keep looking for a real head-to-head brand comparison for this specific use case, but the info is just so scattered. It feels like I am just going in circles trying to find something that is actually reliable and safe for the long haul, especially when looking at the different keyboard options and power delivery specs. Its honestly exhausting and I still have no idea which way to go.
