Seriously why is Samsung still making the charging so finicky? Ive been using GaN chargers for years but my current setup is just refusing to trigger the 45W super fast charging 2.0 on my new Fold 7. Its driving me nuts because I spent a fortune on this phone and it's taking forever to juice up. I need something reliable for my commute since Im always on the go.

  • budget: under $50 if possible
  • must have a 10ft cable because my outlets are always miles away
  • needs to be compact enough for a backpack

Has anyone found a specific block and 5A cable combo that actually works every time?...

@Reply #1 - good point! That 5A rating is the real bottleneck most people miss. Ive been really satisfied with the UGREEN Nexode 45W Dual USB C GaN Charger. It is super compact and way cheaper than the official Samsung brick. Pair it with the UGREEN 100W USB C to USB C Cable 10ft 5A and youll hit those 45W speeds without breaking the bank. Works every time for me.

The trick to hitting that 45W speed is ensuring both the block and cable support 5A PPS. Most 10ft cables are only rated for 3A, which caps you at 25W no matter how good the charger is.

  • Anker 313 Charger Ace 45W GaN: This is my pick for reliability. It is very compact for travel and supports the specific PPS voltage Samsung needs. I have never had it fail to trigger SFC 2.0 and it doesnt get too hot.
  • Samsung 45W USB-C Wall Charger EP-T4510: The official choice if you want to be extra safe with your expensive hardware. It is slightly larger but the compatibility is guaranteed.
  • Baseus 100W USB-C to USB-C Cable 10ft 5A: You definitely need a 5A rated cable like this one. Standard long cables wont work for 45W. If you get the Anker block and the Baseus cable, you stay under budget and get the speed you need. Just make sure the cable stays in good shape... high wattage through long wires can be picky.
