Hey everyone! I just finally treated myself to the Galaxy S24 Ultra after using my old S20 for years, and man, this device is an absolute beast. However, I ran into a bit of a snag immediately—I realized that my old charging bricks aren't really up to the task anymore. Since Samsung doesn't include the wall plug in the box, I’ve been using an old 15W brick, and it feels like it takes an eternity to charge this massive 5,000mAh battery.

I’ve been doing some research on what to buy, but I’m honestly getting a little overwhelmed by all the technical jargon. I know the S24 Ultra supports 45W wired charging, but I’ve read that not every 45W charger is created equal. Apparently, to get the "Super Fast Charging 2.0" notification on the screen, the charger needs to support a specific protocol called PPS (Programmable Power Supply) at a certain voltage. I’ve seen some 65W laptop chargers that people say only charge the Samsung at 15W or 25W because they lack that PPS spec.

I’m looking for something reliable that won't break the bank but also won't degrade my battery health over time. Should I just play it safe and get the official Samsung 45W Power Adapter, or are there better third-party GaN (Gallium Nitride) options from brands like Anker or Ugreen that are more compact? Also, I heard a rumor that I need a specific 5A USB-C to USB-C cable to actually hit the 45W speeds—is that true, or will the cable that came in the box work fine?

I’d love to find something that is portable enough for travel but powerful enough to top me up quickly before I head out for the day. Does anyone have a specific model they’ve been using that consistently hits those top speeds without getting too hot? What are your go-to recommendations for getting the fastest possible charge on the S24 Ultra?

> I realized that my old charging bricks aren't really up to the task anymore. So basically, PPS is mandatory. I've tried many, but the UGREEN Nexode 45W GaN USB C Wall Charger is killer. Grab a 5A cable too cuz the inbox one only supports 25W!

I'd actually suggest a different approach - honestly, buying a single-port 45W brick is kinda a waste of cash. So, basically PPS is mandatory because it lets the phone and charger talk to adjust voltage on the fly. This prevents excess heat which is what really kills battery health over time. In my experience, u get way more value from a multi-port GaN unit. I've been using the Baseus 65W GaN5 Pro USB C Wall Charger for months. It hits the 45W SFC 2.0 perfectly but also has extra ports for ur buds or a tablet. Also, you definitely need a 5A cable; the inbox one is capped at 3A/25W! I recommend the Baseus 100W USB C to USB C Cable 2-Pack for a budget-friendly way to get those top speeds. its much more versatile than the official Samsung plug. gl!

In my experience, u should just grab the Samsung 45W USB-C Fast Charging Wall Charger cuz it actually includes the 5A cable u need. I wasted money on a 65W brick that didnt trigger Super Fast Charging 2.0 cuz of that PPS thing. it SUCKS. * Anker 313 Charger (Ace, 45W) - cheaper/smaller option! honestly, the box cable is only 3A, so ur stuck at 25W without a 5A cord. gl!!

Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!

> basically PPS is mandatory Totally agree! Safety is huge—I’ve used the Anker 713 Charger (Nano II 45W) for months. It stays amazingly cool and protects ur battery health. Grab a Anker 765 USB-C to USB-C Cable (140W Nylon) too!! 👍
