I’m planning a beach vacation and want a waterproof case for my Samsung Galaxy S22 to protect it from sand and water. I’ve seen some options online, but I’m not sure how reliable they are. Has anyone used a waterproof case that actually works? I’d prefer something that doesn’t make the phone too bulky but still offers solid protection. Any recommendations or experiences would be helpful!
honestly i get being nervous about this because even with an IP68 rating things can go south real fast if sand gets into the seals... basically those "waterproof" cases look solid but sometimes the touch screen response is terrible or the acoustic membranes for the speakers get all muffled and weird and it just becomes a hassle. Before u buy anything i just have a couple of questions to see what stuff would actually work for u: * Are u planning to actually take it underwater for photos or is this just to keep the salt spray and sand off while ur on the towel?
* Is the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor a dealbreaker for u because a lot of those thick waterproof layers basically break that feature completely... I've seen some tech specs where the seals fail if u go even a tiny bit deeper than the rated depth and salt water is way more corrosive than fresh water so i'm always a bit cautious about trusting a $20 piece of plastic with an expensive phone tbh it's just risky and u gotta be sure the gaskets are seated perfectly every single time u snap it shut.
