Hey everyone! I just put in my pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus and I’m super stoked to get it in my hands soon. However, I’m always a bit paranoid about that massive, beautiful display getting scratched up or, heaven forbid, cracked on day one. I’m trying to find the perfect screen protector before the phone actually arrives, but I’m seeing so many conflicting options online.

The main thing I’m worried about is the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. In the past, I’ve had tempered glass protectors that made the biometric scanner almost unusable, so I’m wondering if anyone knows which brands have perfected the fit and clarity for the S25 series specifically. Also, since the S25 Plus has those incredibly slim bezels, I really need something that’s case-friendly and won't lift at the edges when I pop on my protective case.

I've looked at the official Samsung film and the Whitestone Dome glass, but the UV light installation for the latter always stresses me out. Is there a reliable tempered glass option that uses a standard adhesive but still works perfectly with the fingerprint reader? I'm looking for high-quality protection, ideally under $35.

For those who have been doing their research or already picked one up, which screen protector would you recommend for the S25 Plus to keep it pristine without sacrificing touch sensitivity?

Curious about one thing: what case are you pairing it with? Honestly, i've had issues with glass lifting before... super annoying. Compare amFilm OneTouch Glass for Galaxy S25 Plus (best value) vs ESR Tempered-Glass for S25 Plus (great fit) vs the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus Anti-Reflecting Screen Protector. Glass is safer, but the ultrasonic sensor is more reliable with film. Lmk ur case brand cuz that's the real dealbreaker for those slim bezels!

saw this earlier but just now responding... honestly, i feel u on the paranoia. unfortunately, the ultrasonic sensor tech has been a huge headache for glass users for years now. i've wasted sooo much money on protectors that just dont work or make the biometrics feel like a total lagfest. i mean, i tried several "premium" brands on my old S24 and they were honestly not as good as expected for the price.

For your situation, I would suggest the amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus. It's usually under $15 for a multi-pack, which is a total steal compared to that $50 UV stuff. It uses a standard adhesive and comes with a plastic alignment jig that makes it basically foolproof. I had issues with edge lifting on other brands, but these usually play nice with cases because they leave a tiny, tiny gap at the very edge.

Another solid budget option is the ESR Tempered-Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus. It's super clear and doesnt mess with the clarity of that beautiful display. idk why people pay for the super expensive ones when these work just as well. Just a heads up tho—you highkey HAVE to reregister ur fingerprints after you put the glass on. I also recommend turning on the "Touch Sensitivity" toggle in the display settings. It's not a perfect solution since glass will always be slightly worse than film for ultrasonic sensors, but for under $35, these are ur best bets... good luck!

> Is there a reliable tempered glass option that uses a standard adhesive but still works perfectly with the fingerprint reader? Honestly, I've been through so many of these flagships and I've found that those $30+ options are usually a total rip-off. Basically, I always go for the Milomdoi 3+3 Pack for Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus because you get a multi-pack for like ten or twelve bucks. From my experience, the glass *will* eventually chip or the coating wears off after a few months anyway, so having backups ready to go is the real pro move for long-term ownership. As for the sensor, it works fine as long as you're patient with the install. I mean, the secret is to delete your old prints and redo them *after* the glass is on. And like, press a bit firmer during the setup process. These thinner glass kits are way better for the ultrasonic tech than the bulky ones from a few years ago. Plus, they usually have a tiny bit of clearance around the edges, so they play nice with almost any case you throw at it without lifting.

Regarding what #8 said about "Honestly i just saw this thread and i..."

  • I have had the exact same issue with the adhesive thickness ruining the sensor experience. It is honestly disappointing that we still have to struggle with this every time a new flagship drops. I have wasted quite a bit of money on expensive kits that simply did not work as advertised, which is why I have shifted to a more budget-focused strategy. Coming back to this, here are a few methodical choices that wont break the bank if they dont work out perfectly:
  • Supershieldz Tempered Glass for Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus 3-Pack. These are incredibly cheap, usually under $10, and they are thin enough that they dont totally kill the fingerprint reader.
  • LK Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus 3-Pack. The alignment tool is really helpful for keeping things centered on those slim bezels. Unfortunately, the ultrasonic sensor is just finicky by nature. I have found that re-registering my fingerprints twice after the install helps a bit, but it is never quite as fast as a bare screen. Honestly, just skip the $40 options because they usually have the same compatibility issues as the cheap ones.

Honestly i just saw this thread and i went through a whole thing with my last upgrade because of those super slim bezels and how the sensor actually works. I remember getting this one protector that looked perfect but the adhesive was like just a tiny bit too thick and it basically ruined the whole feel of the scanner and i had to press so hard my thumb hurt (at least thats what happened to me). What I learned from trial and error is that the actual thickness of that glue layer matters way more than the glass itself when it comes to the ultrasonic tech because if there is even a tiny microscopic gap or if the material is too dense the sensor just gives up on you. I had this huge issue where the edge of the protector kept catching on my case because the bezels are so thin now that there is basically zero room for error and it kept lifting up. Does anyone know for sure if the screen on this model is 100% flat or if there is still a tiny bit of a curve at the very edge? Because that always messes up my installs and causes those bubbles that never go away tho. It took me a few tries to get it right because the margins are so tight now and i am still worried about the fitment being off.

yo! congrats on the s25 pre-order. honestly, i get the paranoia about the screen lol. for your situation, i've been super happy with my setup.

- go with spigen, you can't go wrong
- just get any tempered glass from them
- way cheaper than $35 too

it's worked well for me and doesnt mess with the ultrasonic sensor at all. i think it's way easier than uv. definatly a solid choice... peace!

For your situation, I've spent years basically testing every type of screen protection for these Samsung flagships since the S10 days... tbh the ultrasonic sensor is always the biggest headache. I totally get the paranoia about the S25 Plus display tho, those bezels are insanely thin and you definitely dont want to ruin that look.

Basically, you've got three main routes. First, the standard tempered glass. Honestly, I've found these are usually a miss. Even if they claim they're "compatible," the air gap or the glue thickness usually makes the biometric scanner super inconsistent. You end up having to press way too hard, which is just wierd and annoying.

Then there's the UV glass like you mentioned. The technical reason it works so well is cuz the liquid adhesive fills the gaps perfectly for the sensor. I used that setup on my last phone and was really satisfied with the clarity, but yeah, the install is a total mess if you're not a pro at it.

Personally, I've moved to using high-quality hybrid films lately. They're like a mix of plastic and glass. My current setup is a hybrid one that feels almost like real glass but is thin enough that the ultrasonic sensor doesn't even notice it's there. Plus, they're way more case-friendly and wont lift at the edges like thick glass does. For under $35, a good hybrid or "smart" film is lowkey the best balance of protection and functionality. Just remember to re-register those prints after you put it on!! so yeah, hope that helps. peace
