So I finally snagged the S26 Ultra and I'm stressing about the screen protector situation because that ultrasonic sensor is always so finicky. I was looking at those Whitestone Dome ones since everyone says they are the gold standard for Samsung but then I saw a bunch of reviews on Amazon saying the new sensor on this model still struggles with the glue layer. My logic was that maybe I should just go with a basic TPU film but I drop my phone constantly at work so I really need actual glass protection. Im based in Chicago so I can get most brands pretty fast but I dont wanna waste 50 bucks on something that makes my fingerprint useless... has anyone found a glass one that actually registers every time?

Jumping in with some data. Im very satisfied with amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for S26 Ultra 2-Pack because its 0.33mm profile ensures the ultrasonic waves register without lag. It works well and is a better budget choice than expensive UV kits. Just toggle the touch sensitivity setting in your menu. TL;DR: amFilm is cheap and works because the thin glass doesnt block the sensor.

Regarding what #2 said about amFilm being a solid budget choice, I totally agree. In my experience, the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector for S26 Ultra is the most reliable for safety and ease.

  • Register your thumb twice after installing.
  • Use the alignment tray so the sensor lines up.
  • Dry installs are way safer than messy UV glue, trust me... I've seen too many installs go wrong over the years, tbh.

I'm very satisfied with my current setup. After a methodical installation, the glass one I got works perfectly. It registers every time, so I definitely recommend sticking with glass protection.
