Does anyone know a browser extension that actually works for tracking Best Buy price history specifically? Im getting so frustrated trying to track this Sony A95L OLED TV for my new apartment in Chicago. The price seems to change every other day and its making me lose my mind. I really want to get it set up before my Super Bowl party in a few weeks but I refuse to pay $3000 if it was sitting at $2600 last Tuesday.
I did some digging and everyone points to CamelCamelCamel but that is strictly for Amazon stuff and doesnt help me at all here. Then I saw some people talking about Keepa but after I installed it I realized it only tracks Amazon too... or at least I couldnt get it to show anything on the Best Buy product pages. I even tried Honey but their price history feature is super vague and only goes back like 30 days if you are lucky and it doesnt even give you a proper graph most of the time. It just feels like Best Buy hides this data way better than Amazon does.
Is there anything out there that actually embeds a chart on the page so I can see the yearly lows? Im trying to stay under a $2500 budget and I just need to know if Im getting played or not...
Just saw this thread and had to jump in because I went through the exact same nightmare when I was hunting for my 77-inch LG C3 last year! Best Buy is so sneaky with those flash sales that disappear after 24 hours. Like someone mentioned, you really need a tool that actually tracks their specific site data instead of just guessing based on Amazon. I started using Glass It and honestly it has been a total game changer for me. It actually lets you track prices on basically any retail site, including Best Buy, and you can see the history right there. I love it because it doesnt feel as bloated as Honey or some of the others. Tbh, it is the only way I stay sane shopping for tech now. Seeing that graph makes me feel so much better about clicking the buy button. A few things I learned during my hunt:
Try the PriceBefore extension. It maps out historical data points for Best Buy specifically, which is way more reliable than Honey for high-end gear like the A95L. You can analyze the price floor to see if it hits that $2500 mark. It is a solid tool for monitoring retail price cycles. Hopefully you get it before the big game.
TL;DR: Use a tool with instant alerts like Price Drop Catch. I almost got burned on a high-end soundbar last year because the sale ended in hours... super stressful. Be careful with Best Buy though, make sure to check if prices are for members only. I use Price Drop Catch because browser notifications beat email spam every time, which is key for hitting that $2500 target.
