Is there a way to just share my Amazon cart directly with someone else so they can see exactly what I have in there? I'm trying to coordinate a camping trip to Joshua Tree with my brother for next month and we have a budget of about $500 for a new tent and some cooking gear. I have like 12 items sitting in my cart right now and I really need him to look over the specs of the stove and the sleeping pads before I pull the trigger and spend the money.
I did a bit of searching online and saw some people saying you should just make a Public Wish List and share that, but that feels like an annoying extra step because I already spent an hour finding the specific versions of the gear I want and adding them to the cart. I also read about Amazon Household where you can share prime benefits, but he lives in a different state so I dont think we qualify as the same household, plus it seems way too complicated just to show him a list of items for one single order.
Is there some kind of Share Cart button I am just totally missing? Or maybe a browser extension that actually works for this? It seems like such a basic feature but I'm just clicking around my cart and seeing nothing but the checkout button. I really dont want to have to copy-paste 12 individual links into a text message if I can help it...
Honestly, its pretty ridiculous that Amazon hasn't built a native way to do this yet. Youd think a trillion-dollar company could add a simple share button, but unfortunately, it just doesnt exist. I went through this exact same headache last summer when I was trying to split gear costs for a backpacking trip. I spent forever picking out a specific Klymit sleeping pad and a decent budget stove, only to realize I had to manually send every single link to my buddy. Its a massive waste of time and super annoying when youre trying to stay organized. Since you dont want to deal with the wish list nonsense, your best bet is a browser extension called Share-A-Cart. I have used it before and it works okay, though sometimes its a bit glitchy if the other person isnt logged in properly. It basically generates a code or a link that rebuilds your cart on their screen so they can see the exact specs. Just be careful because sometimes prices fluctuate or items go out of stock between the time you share it and when they actually open it, which can mess up your $500 budget. If youre trying to stay under that price point for a tent and cooking gear, definitely double check those bundles. They usually look like a deal but sometimes theyre actually more expensive than buying the items separately. Ngl, the whole process is way more frustrating than it needs to be because Amazon just wants you to hit that buy button immediately without thinking twice or getting a second opinion.
