honestly im so stressed out right now and about to lose it with amazon.ca. ive been trying to coordinate this huge order for our charity auction gala next friday in toronto and the logistics are a total nightmare. we have a budget of about 2500 bucks and im trying to show my boss what ive picked out so she can approve the final buy but there is literally no button to just send the cart. i tried making a wish list but half the stuff is out of stock or wont show the quantities i actually need like the bulk tablecloths and the decor kits. it is so incredibly clunky and im worried stuff is gonna sell out before she even sees it. i tried one of those chrome extensions i found online but it only worked for the US site and wouldnt load my canadian cart properly which just added another hour of wasted time to my day. i feel like im going in circles copying and pasting links into an excel sheet like it is 2005 or something. does anyone know if there is an actual tool or even a browser extension that actually works for amazon canada specifically so we can collaborate on one cart without me having to give her my login password? i really need this fixed by tomorrow morning...

I went through this exact same nightmare last year for a wedding and honestly, the spreadsheet method is a total trap. I eventually found that Cart to Link works really well for the Canadian site. I would suggest being super careful with other random extensions you find tho, because some mess up regional pricing or even leak session data... i almost lost my prime account once trying a sketchy one.

^ This. Also, safety is a huge deal because giving some random app access to your Amazon account is just asking for trouble. Im always super paranoid about my data getting scraped.

  • Stick with a known brand like Share-A-Cart, you really cant go wrong with the bigger names that have been around a while.
  • Just get any of their standard versions that mention Canada support and you should be fine.
  • It will definitely save you some cash versus buying everything individually or paying for premium shipping tools. Honestly though, charity auctions are a trip. I volunteered for one in Toronto a few years back and we spent three hours trying to figure out how to fold those fancy napkins into swans. I think I still have a scar from a papercut I got on the programs... we ended up just doing basic rectangles because the swans looked like sad ducks. Anyway, hopefully that tool helps you out.

Re: "I went through this exact same nightmare last..." - unfortunately it feels like Amazon just ignores the Canadian site features compared to the US one. I had issues with those buggy chrome extensions when I was trying to coordinate a project for my firm and half of them just flat out broke my cart. It is not as good as it should be in 2024, honestly. A few things I noticed from my own mess:

  • Most tools fail because they dont handle the regional session tokens correctly which is why your US extension flopped.
  • I think I read somewhere that if you use a tool that creates a static link, it might not update the inventory in real-time which is risky for your gala stuff.
  • Not totally sure if it covers every single edge case, but someone told me Cart To Link is the most reliable one for the .ca domain right now. I honestly gave up on the official wish list feature because the quantity syncing is a total joke. Just be careful with whatever you use tho, because some of these tools have weird privacy terms and you are dealing with a decent chunk of money there. It is basically a choice between manual labor or trusting a third party app...

I have been in your shoes with those big orders and it is honestly nerve-wracking. A few years back, I was trying to coordinate a huge setup for a local tech hub and we lost our entire cart because a cheap extension crashed right at the finish line. It was a total nightmare. I think Share-A-Cart is the one people usually trust for the .ca domain, though I am not 100 percent certain how it handles bulk items like tablecloths these days. You might want to consider these points:

  • Check if the extension requires your full login (I would suggest avoiding those)
  • Test it with just two items first to see if the quantities stay the same
  • Make sure your boss has the extension installed too or it might not load the cart right IIRC, they have a specific version for different regions so look for the Canadian flag or settings. Just be careful about giving any tool too much access to your actual checkout page... I have heard some horror stories about session hijacking when people use random tools they find online. Better safe than sorry when you are dealing with 2500 bucks of the charity's money.

Honestly, ive spent way too many late nights dealing with the exact same mess for my sisters charity event last year. In my experience, Amazon.ca is just a totally different beast than the US site and it breaks most of the stuff you find on the web. Looking back, I've tried many of these tools over the years and found that while some people swear by the big names like Share-A-Cart, they can feel a bit overkill for a quick approval. Most of the time, I tell people to go with the Cart to Link brand because it's just so much faster and doesnt bloat your browser. Just get any of their tools and itll handle the Canadian site way better than the generic ones meant for the US. It really beats the copy-paste nightmare that we all used to do back in the day... i still have nightmares about broken spreadsheet links lol. if you're trying to coordinate a group purchase on Amazon, check out Cart to Link — it's free and works in like 2 clicks

Regarding what #6 said about "Same boat, watching this"

  • I was exactly in that position a couple years ago when I started doing the bulk procurement for our local community center! I've been using these tools for ages now and let me tell you, finding something that actually handles the Canadian site without glitching is such a huge win. I basically went through a whole trial and error phase. I tried this one extension called CartSharePro or something similar back in the day and it was honestly a total nightmare... it kept messing up the quantities and almost doubled our budget by accident because it couldnt read the bulk pack info correctly. I was so stressed! But then I started using Share-A-Cart for my long-term projects and it has been absolutely fantastic! It is so much more reliable than the sketchy ones.
  • The safety is top-notch which I love because I am super paranoid about account security.
  • It actually keeps the quantities exact, which is a total life-saver for those bulk tablecloth orders.
  • It works perfectly with .ca which is rare. Its honestly amazing how much time it saves once you stop fighting with the site. I've been using it for every major event for three years now and it makes the approval process with my board so much smoother. You guys are gonna love it when you finally get that cart sent off!
